HYBRIDS: Are there Gov't Subsidies for Hybrids at the moment?

Hey guys,

A few years back I would have STRONGLY disagreed with purchasing a Hybrid.

1) as I love driving too much and the whole idea of sacrificing power and sporting ride for economy was a complete foreign concept to me!

2) hybrids over the last few years, in terms of style and presence, well to put it nicely nothing has really caught my eye. (Well until now anyways)

But with gas prices getting up there, and my commute to work being so damn far, I've begun to look into this.

Currently considering the CR-Z & yes I've heard the opinions.
But my question is regarding subsidies.

Is the Canadian Government currently offering any subsidies or incentives to purchase Hybrids similar to California?

Any feedback would be appreciated, whether investment for hybrid tech is worth it. Cost of upkeep. Possibility of better solutions and models, Diesels, owners feedbacks.

Cheers,

Hybrids, have always been a smart buy. Gas engines last longer, due to less wear, they have high resale and it's a socially smart decisions. The government pulled back the hybrid subsidies a few years ago unfortunately.

I like how you phrased that... and not "environmentally smart decision" :D
