a Typhoon engine and JATO pretty much in a pencil on wheels lol.

the MCT V12 actually has nothing to do with speed, just acting as an APU for the rocket's oxidizer pump, but i guess you need an 800hp APU to pump that much fuel into the thing that fast.

This has been going on for some time now.
The level of participation can only be compared to space programs, or perhaps the European collider project.
It is going to be a huge event, and will likely represent a record that will not be broken until technology takes a significant leap.
It amazes me how little weight means once you are above 200mph, never mind these speeds. Aerodynamics, and power are most important.
