Alberta Club Lexus Meet - March 26th

We're trying to get an Alberta wide Lexus/Toyota meet going for this spring. The date is planned for March 26, 2011 at 1:00pm. So hopefully we'll all be able to have our summer shoes on and the cars shined up for then.

We're planning to meet at Westerner Park on the south end of Red Deer, just off the highway, BS for a while, get some food, whatever. There's a nice big parking lot there and it looks like from Google maps, they've done some hooning in the lot before.

It's pretty far from now but we'd rather plan early to get people aware of it so they can plan to come out. Let me know if you guys are interested. We've already got about 15 cars from Calgary ready to come up.

It's been mentioned on a couple other boards that people are worried about end of March being too early to run this thing.

Do people want to push this thing back? Or, commit to this date?

A great point has been brought to my attention from the IS boards.

We want these meets to be fun for everyone. Open booze in the parking lot and ripping donuts/powerslides will not be tolerated. We all know how much Alberta's Finest love meets when people are having burnout contests. We will be noticed and if you guys think RCMP doesn't check these boards to see what's going on, you're wrong. They know we'll be coming out, so lets be smart about this so we can avoid the rozzers.

I know speeding is inevitable on the way to and from these things, but lets try to be responsible and not get anyone hurt or, god forbid, worse. I'm not trying to be a fun-sucker or anything. I've just seen the attention these meets can get. Last summer there was a Bimmer forum (I won't mention which one) meet in Red Deer, and they managed to make a spectacle on the police scanners, province-wide :facepalm:

My car is most likely going to be in the repair shop by the looks of it since insurance has taken so long to get back to me. Guess I'm out for the 26th.:(

^^ Insurance takes forever to get stuff done. Where you taking your car? it took mine months to get done after that hail storm last summer. And it still needs a bit of rework.

Car *should* be going in within the next two weeks, already called her again and got ahold of her. I'm taking it to screamin paintworks. I still don't know the outcome, but at this point, there's really nothing I can do, I fought and did what I could to prove it wasn't my fault, but in the end I know it's going to be useless because I still didn't find a witness, so that being said, it will most likely be deemed 50/50.. Unfortunately, I really didn't need that to happen, especially when it wasn't my fault.

Yeah, that's a bit of a pain. Never heard of the shop though. Are they legit? what did the police report say? isn't it their job to determine fault?

Yes... very reputable/recommended to/from lots of people on beyond. I don't know what his said, all I know is what mine said. My mom read it just before and she was like "wow, that's very well written" because I made sure what happened and what I had to say was 100% clear and well spoken. And yes, they will determine, although they still haven't really spoken (between the 2 adjusters, because apparently he did make a claim) so I'm not sure what the outcome is quite yet. I'm fairly sure it will in fact be 50/50 though. Regardless, my car is getting fixed, don't care what they have to say anymore, after a month I just have to move on and accept the fact that I'm getting the shit end of the stick this time.
