I'm not a huge fan of the new stacked headlights. Well, I am, but I dont like the look from the very front. It looks good in that pic though.

sweet looking bike. The yellow and black paint is hot. You have to see it in person, no pic could do it justice.

That's a 2003 one..

I really like the 04 750, I'm thinking of selling my R1 and buying either a 04 R1 or a 04 GSXR750.. Cant decide..

Money is the big thing, an 04 R1 is getting pricey..

The R1 is pure, pure class though.

Buy the bike that fits your body.
If you are not comfortable in the crouch, and the handlebars do not fall right into your hands where they will be comfortable for hours on end, and the seat kills your ass like a piece of upholstered oak, than you are not going to be able to ride the bike to your potential.
Bikes are like shoes. They gotta fit.

this is the 04 gixxer 750 headlight. I personally love it, it really flows with the bike.

sorry about the pic size.

I love gixxers.. too bad I can't ride anything but Kawis because my 30 inch legs can't duck walk on them.. if i lowered the bike by 3 inches i'd have no problems.. i don't really like the overlapping lights, but it'll grow on me..

Stacked Headlights are ugly.

IMO suzuki is getting blown away in the looks department this year by the other big 3 (honda, yamaha, and kawi)

I can't get over how ugly the headlights are. I hated them on the new GSXR1000 and now on the 600 and 750 they're just fugly. It's a shame because the rest of the bike looks pretty damn good.

I agree 110%... although the performance is still great, the looks can't even compare to the other three...

A new gsxr 1000 is cheaper than 13K and probably right around 13k after taxes and such. The 750 is not the same price. i would say more like 10k plus taxes, that was the price i heard at the bike show.

there you go, all the squiddy wet dreams
if you fail to notice how similar they all look, I'm afraid you're blind.

kevie88
01-15-2004, 09:46 PM
I must be blind then! hehe

I see massive differences in them, but then again, I used to do really well at those "find 10 differences in these two pictures" games as a kid.. The side profiles don't really do the designs justice, you need to see the "waistline" of the bike and it's headlights to really get an idea what they look like.

Gotta love the looks of the Kawi 600.. Green Goblin ! :D

RiCE-DaDDy
01-15-2004, 10:07 PM
its a trend, the high wasp tail, short windshield/upper cowl

imo the suzuki is the most bland one there

another :thumbsdow is how the 600,750,1000 all look the same!!!!

suzukis only making the 750s cause they are acutally a great choice to sport bikers. racing wise, the 750 class is pretty much dead

m10-power
01-16-2004, 05:56 PM
750cc class has been about the GSXR for as long as I can remember...I wonder how many years before the 750 goes the way of the 2 stroke?

Hey Kevie88 get the R6 you squid, the R1 is too much bike for you :poosie: then let me ride it so the tires get scrubbed in properly

Any RC-51's at Walt's?

Ducati

Who cares how it looks?

Can you ride the Fucker?

I have a 10 year old bike that is very dated in appearance compared to this new crop of excellent sportbikes, but it is a bike that I have owned since new, and have ridden it for 85000 km. I know that bike, am comfortable on it, and can ride the tires off it. I can keep up or beat guys on 130 hp. Yamaha R1's despite having only 100 rear wheel horsepower and 40 extra lbs of weigh, and am twice as old as the squid on the Yamaha or whatever. The reason: familiarity with my ride. I know exactly what it will do when I throw it into a double reducing radius curve at 180Kmh and exactly where the sweet spot in the engine is for maximum torque out of the curve so I can get on it and fly away from squiddy-boy who flew into the curve too hot and had to grab a mittful of brake.

Problem is - I go through two sets of Dunlop Sport Elites every season.

m10-power
01-16-2004, 06:09 PM
What is a Dunlop Sport Elite tire?

Sounds like a sport touring tire, could be why your going through them that fast. I used to go through a set of dunlops every weekend...got too expensive so I stopped using them so hard.

Yeah, we actually do have an RC51 here! but it's pretty expensive, it's got 4600km's on it. But they're asking $10,400  seems like too much to me.

But you should come down anyway!

Ducati, trust me when I say M10 CAN ride the fucker.

01-16-2004, 09:34 PM
Cool,
10,400 isnt so bad, has it been down?
I suppose they are open to offers ;)
You working this weekend? I'll come down and check it out...

Well you know that squid comment is :bullshit: haha

Maybe I'll call up Miguel and see if he can get me some old used parts...hehe

ehos
01-16-2004, 09:38 PM
If you're getting the 750 (or thinking about it), you might as well just go big.

Get the 1000 and you won't have people asking why you didn't buy el grande.

I sold my R1, but the GSXR 1000 is just too sweet.

Nope, I don't think it's been down, but it could use a good polish. I'm in on Saturday from 9-5 so come down!

I have preferred Dunlop tires for my various sportbikes over the last nearly 20 years. Sport Elites are what they were called back in the days I had a Kaw ELR, and my riding buddies and I just have always referred to Dunlop sport tirs as Elite's.

I bought a set of Dunlop's 208 ZR's last August. They were hellaciously expensive - I paid $350 for a set. Even though I haven't been riding since late fall when I had a bit of an..er...mechanical problem. I can tell that the tires are not going to last too much longer.
The 207's I had before it were new in the fall of 02, and lasted until mid summer.

I don't want to go to a set od Sport/Touring Tires on this bike, as I like the "Sticktion". Our ride up to Mt. Baker is a fast winding run, my riding buddies are all very experienced and fast riders, and you are as fast as your tires are good.

Sportbikes are meant to be ridden in an er..."entertaining" manner. M10 sounds like a person who shares my enthusiasm for riding. That earns my respect.

thing is, most riders are not gonna reach the level where they can exploit the full potential of a SS. So for most of us, looks is factor when decding what bike.

I agree totally. All good sportbikes are so close to each other in their classes, and their limits are so high that the differences are unattainable for us mortals. I always tell my friends who want 600's to just buy the one they think looks good, and fits them the best.

I kinda shy away from Suzuki a little just because the replacement parts are soooo bloooody expensive, and I fall off bikes once in a while.

Ducati
01-17-2004, 09:00 PM
I really doubt if my next bike will be a full-on sportbike. I am taking longer to recover from the prolonged crouch of fast rides up Hwy 31A or the Pemberton/Cache Creek loop with crazy guys on R1's, RC51's & 996's. Bikes like the YZF1, the Kaw ELR (I had the original) or BMW's R1100S & RR1150 are starting to appeal to me more and more. Best of both worlds. Besides, before there were sportbikes, we used to cafe' out "Standards", and I miss the versatility of those bikes. (I don't miss the wiggly frames, tho.)

I was looking to get a track/street bike, just for lapping days mainly as street riding is dull...not sure if it will happen this year.

Kevin you just going to the practices or are you going to do some racing?

Ducati, never rode anything other then a sport bike, GS500 closes thing but that handled unbelievably, all 39rwhp of it haha.
I love twins, much more fun to ride IMHO, a ducati is too much maintainance for me to be bothered. Too expensive to crash at the track, I don't plan on doing that anymore, 25+ times is enough for me.

Ducati
01-18-2004, 02:21 AM
Ditto on the Duc...
It's a love/hate relationship, and has been since Aug 1, 1993 when I bought the bastard for 16 grand.
I have owned Ducati's since the fall of 1978 and they have all given me trouble.
Why do I keep coming back like some pussywhipped masochist, only to have hot wax dripped on me and made to eat dogfood?
Because of The Ride...

If I had a brain that weighed any more than two pounds I would have a bulletproof sportbike like a Kaw. Z900 or a BeeEm.
I did have a Kaw - too bad it kinda bored me. It had no....soul.

A Ducati is a bitch Mistress that ties your dick up with a shoelace and then makes your head blow up. She will whip you till you are screaming and bleeding, and then lick your toes. She is the rim-job queen of the East End...and her name is - Desmoquattro!

Do NOT bring her home.
