Get most of my news online, usually through CTV and CNN, but I don't care to read about Lindsay Lohan or Justin Bieber, wondering if there is a good online news source that doesn't have any entertainment news on the front page?

I usually use google news, or the websites for the newspapers like Calgary Herald, National Post, Globe and Mail etc.

Oh comeon, you know you want to see Beiber get shot in slow motion. Its one of the fastest popularity videos on Youtube ever.

Oddly fascinating, the US just eats it up. They love their guns down there.

oh, and why is everyone on the aljazeera bandwagon in here... is it because you see it as subversive and "cool"? or what? because they are not particularly informative or well written, and in fact are filled with the same superficial crap as CNN, except it has it's arab. :dunno:

You can actually customize Google News and remove sections you don't want displayed. Using RSS feeds on the iGoogle page and only select feeds that interest you is another option.

I usually use beyond first because quite often, the most interesting news articles will be posted on beyond by a fellow member.

On beyond you can get IT related news, Sports, Auto, and you even get the tabloids from ZenOps.

Aside from beyond, I like BBC for their news. It's not as sensationalist as the North American news sites.

+1 for BBC. I used to use al jazeera, but the pro arab bias started to get annoying after awhile. Just like the pro israel bias pissed me off on the yank sites.

Google News because most news stories and articles will include everything under the sun from al-jazeera to reuters to the BBC to Fox News. It's the best, you can read a wide variety of news reports (and opinions) on a single issue and get a good grasp of the issue that way.

The Huffington Post is pretty good for a "news magazine" as well.

Not sure how it will go now that AOL owns it.

The Huffingtonpost is utter garbage. More biased than likely any news organization (even more so than those who accuse fox of being biased). It's left wing nonsense - you can't even disagree with that.
