One basic driving fact about the Fisker Karma is that it is, at the very least, the first upper-premium four-door purely electrically driven car in this current electric tidal wave that we're living in.

...

The 255-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct-injected GM Ecotec four-cylinder engine is cradled in a front mid-engine layout, and it powers the 175-kW generator while in Sport mode, which then pumps the 315-cell 606-pound lithium-ion battery pack full of kilowatt energy. It's the 20-kW battery pack that finally feeds the two 201-hp, electric motors placed fore and aft of the single-speed rear differential. Combined, the whole works is good for a stonking 981 pound-feet of torque. Thus spinneth the rear axle and hence the forward thrust. In this Sport or, may we suggest, extended-range mode, top speed is let out to 125 mph and acceleration to 60 mph now happens in just 5.9 seconds whether we like it or not. We'll come back to that.

Claimed maximum range in Sport mode is 300 miles.

Would you rather buy this than a Panamera or go for the Aston Martin flavor? Thoughts? :)

Speed wise, it quite inferior to either offering.

Then again, it's only $100K. It does undercut both and can run in pure electric mode.

For those trendy tree-huggers, Prius no more!

While it cannot beat the Panamera in speed, it sure wins in looks.

Besides, if you bought a Panamera... Performance doesn't matter to you.

Otherwise, you would've bought a 911 Turbo.

I like the Panamera, but I love AM's. If I had the choice, I would definately rock an AM over the Fisker.

My thoughts exactly. The Fisker needs a little work on the back but besides that it really is an impressive looking car.

So what does Beyond say? Hit or miss?

I think this will be a hit, especially in California.

"Fully electric car"? Jizzed.

The ones in the rear i was told were speakers, since the car is electric they figured it needs t have some sounds so hence the speakers to mimmic the sound of a car (thats what I was told)

It's a very cool looking car, but fake car sounds is kind of lame, don't you think?

Yes Very. I heard you can even change the sound to pretty much anything you want. Watched that on a youtube video.

Its to bad they didnt make a V8 and then an electric option

It's supposed to sav gas. Range extender is just overcome battery issue. If u drive this in winter, I'm sure you'll get worst mileage than a Civic.

Then again it was never the point. All these cars is about making a statement. Saving fuel is just a by product.

I guess it's a cool idea but personally, I'd rather have a car that is silent than have one that artificially produces sounds that the engine doesn't normally make. IMO, it's no better than ricers who have those fake BOVs/turbos on their cars.

+1. I'd rather have pure engine noise coming out than from a pre-recording.

I'd pump out galloping horses through those speakers, complete with the 'clip clop' and everything!

I'd pump out an f-14 at Mach 3

Decent range, but this car is apples to oranges between the Rapide and the Panamera. This won't appeal to prospective buyers for the same reasons as the others.

Actually, then it would crossfade into an F-14 taxiing.

Imagine the afterburner sound when you punch the gas? That would be amazing.

How does interior heat work in an electric car?

Draw from battery. No different than electric heaters. My question is how well do they heat up, especially during winter when your battery are in the worst shape and you need heat the most.

They are built in Finnland, so hopefully they done their testing there as well and not only in California.
