GMC Pickup audio installation

I'm trying to install an audio system in a mid 90's GMC pickup but I cannot get to wireing harness in the dash board. The tape deck and the tuner and volume controlls are in diferent spots and it is next to impossible to get to the wire harness. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please let me know! If you could direct me to a web site that may help or any sugestions as to how I can succesfully install this system would be appereciated.

It's just a 94 GMC pickup! I'm not sure why the colour matter's????:confused:
