heard about this. thought about it for rental opportunities but I rather spend a bit more for a downtown location. easier to rent out.

Agreed!

With POV your condo fees will be through the roof (my rental property is) because the board will be forced to fix all the half-ass work. My building had cash calls for pipes, common property, boilers, etc. It's my mistake for not taking the time for proper due-diligence, but I can at least warn others before putting their money into something like this.

As for low-income families, the prices might be the same monthly as rent, but the cash calls for $2500+ every year or so would absolutely cripple them in most cases.

Great deal, but the company does have an F rating from the BBB. Anyone going to the sales launch today?

i went there to check it out today, everything was basically sold

plus the type of people buying these condos look like they would be slum landlords, would definitely not want to live there, it's also pretty shitty when you can't even see the condo before you buy it and just go on the floor plan layout

Bumping and old thread, but just wondering if anyone has actually made a purchase from POV and could comment on the experience. Any hidden fees/sketchy terms and whatnot to watch out for?

Buying a P.O.V. condo is like buying a car built in Uzkazidlstan. I would almost expect the front door to fall of the first time you closed it.

Total shit product. The purchase price might be nice but cash calls in the first five years are brutal.

A family friend bought a POV condo as a temp residence a couple years ago. I was there during the TV/internet install and was talking to the tech; even these guys can tell when they are working in something POV contracted. Build quality is the worst.

At $920, thats expensive.

Lol at the $200 a month condo fees. Try $400 - $600 fairly quickly as things need to be replaced if they have a good board. If you dont have $400 - $600 condo fees the special assessment coming is going to be the shortfall.

Average apartment condo's are usually $300-$400 (at least when I was looking in 06/07) and that is for a new well built one.
