Have you heard of Safeway or Co-op? They both have delis where meat is sliced fresh to your specifications.

I know this because I make rueben sandwiches every day of the week.

Couldn't you just buy sliced corned beef and mince it yourself?

not really, its got this ground beef consistency - you'll really just have to try it, the word corned beef should only apply to the canned kind imo , the deli meat kind should be called salt beef or ... jewish deli beef lol

^^^yea but i don't want the canned shit, I want like a big hunk of it that I can chop myself. i would think that a deli would have it, but i've never seen it at co-op or safeway or whatever.

actually, i have a can of that hereford in my pantry and it's been there for like a year... holding out for the real thing lOL

The 'corned beef' in the deli has different consistency and it won't become ground beef-style; it's too dry to become ground beef.

Also, Palm corned beef>Hereford IMO.

Oh. Well in that case, just do what somebody mentioned earlier; ask for a chunk at the deli instead of slices.

I've seen similar packaged uncooked corned beef brisket made by Maple Leaf at both Safeway and Sobeys in the meat department.
