How was it? How did it compare to AB? How did you get your foot in the door, what prior experience did you have? Any sort of rotation? Were you Fly in/out and able to maintain some sort of regular life in a place you liked? IMO having days off/living in a place like Fort Mac isn't much better than time off on a rig. All in all was it worth it?

I know where I am now(major service company), I've met a lot of folks who work international and its mostly horror stories. No days off, treated like third world employees (which they sort of are). They get maybe a 40% premium for living in a hell hole, but end up working 50% more (by virtue of no 2/1 rotation) for less money on a per day basis. Other stories of ppl who quit only to find basically the company now had no intention of reimbursing 10k+ in expenses. What are you gonna do? Fly out to Angola and sue them?

Just curious how it compared to other oil field walks of life.
