'01 Cherokee Limited, numbers are real world.

14L/100km when it's in 2wd 99% of the time, but I drive it hard, floor it a lot, etc.
17.5L/100km nowadays.

'05 Envoy...see sig. That's using RWD for summer, AWD for 90% of winter, and 4WD about 10% of winter.

We live in Okotoks, so lots of short trips within town with usually one or two trips into Calgary per tank.

Not sure on my Cherokee, but it is better than my Grand WJ which gets about 16.5l/100k with the oft used 4X4.

My talon gets around 12L/100km driving it spirited all the time and it makes more power than my 5.2 gc.

The blazer I had was shit and got like 20L/100km.

Don't know yet what the gc will get.

Wow and I thought my 2001 Pathfinder was bad.

13-15L/100km (17-19 MPG)
90% city driving, RWD mode, premium fuel.

Rated for 14 MPG city. Dont really notice a difference when switching to regular fuel, plus it has a knock sensor to adjust the timing so I might start using regular with gas prices the way it is now.

Since I have less than 2,000km on the new motor I always let it idle up temp (100C) before driving (which takes forever in this cold) so I think I spend almost as much time idling as driving. Hence I've been averaging around 8MPG (~30L/100km).

My Wife's GMC Yukon XL is getting about 16l/100 km this winter. It does better in the summer, more like 13-14l per 100km

My 06 Ford F350 with the 6.0L diesel is getting around 14l per 100 kms.

Not exactly like yours but:

Highway - 11-12 L/100km
City - 15 L/100km
City (winter) - 18-20 L/100km

Winter is bad in the city because it warms up, harder getting going from lights, more sitting, more slow and 4x4. Highway is the same city or winter. Mileage with 35's. With 31's was about 2 L/100km less across the board. When i drove to Waterton when I first got it I got 8.9 L/100km!

This is using a GPS accurate ODO and full fillups everytime.

2009 Titan on 33"s was an avg of 16-17L/100kms 50/50 city/hwy

Titan towing 7000lbs was an avg of 29.9L/100kms hwy

Titan on 34.5"s is currently winter averaging 20.2L/100kms, which could be out as my speedo is also out 1km every 6kms (Shows 5kms every 6kms) 5050 city/hwy

2010 Sti is 12.2L/100kms city /hwy avg.

Yeah it is too hard on gas for when I have to drive it at least 60km a day... It runs perfectly fine too. For those who don't daily drive it or care about mileage it would be great but i wanna trade it for a 4 cyl or v6

My 5.4L F250 gets between 6-8mpg average

Kloubek
03-03-2011, 02:03 PM
I did post in this thread. The Grand Cherokee is the heavier of the two, and gets about 16.5l/100k in the winter. (Actually, I think it is sitting at around 16.2 right now according to the computer.) That includes the fact my wife almost always keeps it in 4 full time if there is any ice on the roads. I still don't think the mileage is that bad, but it is more than a car. The hazards of driving a loaded-up SUV I guess.

The XJ is lighter, and uses noticably less gas. While it does not have a computer to tell me how much it uses, I would estimate somewhere around 12l-14l/100k in the city. I too use 4 full time when roads are slippery, but usually leave it in 2hi unless I notice slippage.

$2k is too high for a stock 94 with 300k, we had a hard time getting rid of a 95 with a BB and 90% BFG AT's for $2k, I would start around $1700 OBO

Even if you get an XJ or something with a bit better mileage you are going to kill it as soon as you start modding it; lift, tires, other accessories will drag it down fast. And if you get another GC, the mileage difference between V8 and 4.0 is at best 2MPG

Wow... that is just sad. I mean, really. I'm hardly an environmentalist, but even allowing vehicles on the road with this kind of mileage is a travesty.

I agree - larger tires do tend to reduce mileage (and power, for that matter). Mind you, I do have slightly oversize tires and a mild lift on it, and it still gets surprisingly good mileage. As far as the difference between the V8 and the 4.0 on a GC, I agree with you there too. It is the added weight of the GC which really seems to hurts mileage. Like I said, my two SUVs have the same engine but the XJ is noticeably better on gas.

Those V10's cracked me up. Had one at Flint back in the day and it was the worse vehicle on fuel in our fleet and the most underpowred. Just the worst truck I've ever had to drive.

I mean no offense Stealth, but having working brakes is not a selling point for a vehicle. It is an expectation. Besides that, I could install new brakes for $40. $100 if rotors were required.

But hey - keep it up for 2g and see if you get any bites. You never know. It isn't like 2g is really a lot for a vehicle that has no mechanical issues....

i say just keep it... you will probably only get $1500 for it... so a $500 loss. if you get something that gets lets say 5L/100km better it will take you about 10,000kms to make up the difference of the $500 you will lose selling

See my sig. In cold weather it's complete crap, well I have to take into account I use the remote start too. When I don't use the remote start and it's warm out, I get better than 16L/100KM. I have wrangler duratracs, and a volant intake, which actually gives me shittier gas mileage imo. On highway 12-13L/100KM.

Kloubek
03-03-2011, 02:58 PM
That is certainly a plus, as many do indeed have drivetrain issues by that age.

Still, what ercchry says makes sense - it would take you a while to recoup your costs by getting something else. At least with this vehicle you know it is in good shape; it is generally a risk buying another vehicle someone is trying to offload, and if you have any major repairs required that you didn't expect then you're paying more to fix them anyway...

Yeah, $100-$120 fill ups every two weeks is way better than going to the gas station every 6 days in the benz... haha

Although I guess it would be $130-$140 now. Haha, last time I filled gas was still below $1.00 / L

Even if you get an XJ or something with a bit better mileage you are going to kill it as soon as you start modding it; lift, tires, other accessories will drag it down fast. And if you get another GC, the mileage difference between V8 and 4.0 is at best 2MPG It was in fact in good enough condition that I got 1900 for it and still had people wanting to come see it...

Yea its terrible, thats city driving. I can usually get around 10-11 on the highway.

Worst part is that fucking motor is so gutless......

Anyways, I only drive it when I pull my trailer, dirtbikes or machinery. Only when I need it.

I daily drive a Tercel to help balance my overall enviornmental impact lol!

FML this shouldn't be that high... my dad has a sierra with the same engine and gets around 15L/100. If its the 5.3 v8 were talking about?

According to Fuelly, I am getting an average of 18.5L/100km. I have a faulty knock sensor on my 3.3L SC Frontier that is causing me to burn as much fuel as the V8's.

Thats about what im getting in my 02 3.3L SC xterra with remote starting and not driving that nice.
I changed out my knock sensor but i dont think it did much. Same mileage as you and slow as balls still

Yeah the gas mileage is fucked. I drive like a bitch (conservative) and 75% on Deerfoot.

I may have fudged the numbers though. I get about 550km-650km to 100L.

Yeah I don't think I would be as upset if the truck had somewhat decent performance, paying this much for gas is just ridiculous. That's why I'm thinking of switching to a VQ35 Pathfinder/QX4 :nut:
