Just curious,

wifes employer - canada post of all morons - sent a letter saying they wont be providing her a t2200 for 2010 - even though her contract requires her to provide a vehicle for work... amongst other things...

They can't do that can they? require you to provide a vehicle for work then not provide a t2200?

Have a feeling your going to see strikes in the news coming up...

Is it that they are just not mailing them?

I know my wife's school does not mail thier school stuff anymore but it is all easily accessible online.

Nope she got an envelope with T2200 enclosed - and a memo saying she wouldn't be receiving one...

But she has in the past? How do they compensate her for her vehicle? Is the allowance included as a taxable benefit?

I have a vehicle I use for work, but because the allowance is reasonable, it's not a taxable benefit and I don't get a T2200.

ya, t&t honda screwed me on that. I kept pestering them to give me one, and they gave me one, that stated i was only supposed to claim amvic license. I don't think theres anything that you can do.

Is your wife in a similar situation?

Are they including her mileage into her income or are they reimbursing her for the use of her car and leaving the $0.52/km off of her T4?

Mileage was included as taxable income, nowhere near .52/km and is based on a ottawa mileage estimate - not actual kms used... needless to say - ottawas estimate is less than half of actual work km's.

Past years its been the carte blanche T2200, so pretty much all expenses could be witten off...
