Hi Beyond. I'm just slowly getting started into photog, and I picked up a 1.8 not too long ago. Does anyone have a lens hood for the 1.8? Would you say it's worth it to pick one up? Thanks for the input.

It won't hurt, but it's really not necessary on that lens because the front element is so recessed within the lens. If you're really worried about flare & such, you can get one. I've never had an issue with mine.

Ya, don't bother. I've never even put a lenscap on my 50mm 1.8.

Well it's cause I just noticed that in my recent shots at night, I've had a blue flare in my shots which were easily removed in lightroom. But I was curious as to whether it'd affect my shots in like summer and such as well.
But thanks for the inputs.

If you're shooting directly into light, it doesn't matter if you have a hood on or not. It affects the light coming in from the side, which is already pretty well taken care of because the lens element is recessed.

Oh alright. I'll just work on my positioning then. Thanks for the input (Y). Saved me 40 bucks haha
