Hey guys. I'm looking into getting rims for my car this spring and was wondering what everyone's opinion is for rim color for a silver car. Also if you want you can post a style you would recommend like 5 spoke, mesh or something else.

Thanks in advance

Heres a pic of the exact car for your reference.

I'd go bronze or black, but that's because I'm a contrast kind of guy.

bronze, gunmetal, silver would be my choice.
but it all depends on the rims that you are planning on purchasing.
what's your budget?

My budget is $600 for just the rims. I am planning on using Tire Rack for the purchase.

I found these rims and I like them but not sure if they are too ricey

A little more input about your comment would be appreciated. Are you worried about quality? The rims I am looking at are low pressure cast, shot peened and heat treated. Next to forged wheels that's as good as it gets. They exceed OEM specs and come with all the certifications like SAE, JWL and VIA. I really don't believe in having to spend huge dollars on baller brand names just to make myself feel confident. I believe research and smart purchasing can get myself great products with similar quality.

Haters wil hate man... Most of the $600.00 rims are built in exactly the same fashison that your factory, oem rims are built in. For every day use this is obviously more than fine. If you plan on abusing the rims in a hardcore track type situation, then also obviously, it would make sense to step up to a higher level of wheel such as forged optioned etc. The truth is as with any goods, name garners a lot of the cost of a rim. Construction costs of low pressure cast rims do not really very all that damatically.

As for colour, on a silver car anything will work, as long as you like it. Hell... You can go green with purple polkadots if that is your thing. Go with what appeals to your senses. Like I said, haters will always hate...

BTW... We sell wheels in Canada too that will cost in your budget range...

I got white Advan RG's for my ssm EP3. I'll post up pics when I mount them. Probably wont be until late April though. Color depends on the rims you want. I was originally going for silver or bronze though.

if he's not tracking his cars regularly, there's nothing wrong with cast rims over forged rims. I'd go bronze or black personally. Those rims look pretty nice. I'm a fan of the mesh style wheels myself.

gunmetal looked awesome on my old integra

anything but black with polished lip, this look is very hard to pull off and unless you are running wheels with a good dish on them and are very low it will look extremely cheap IMO. I never understood the fad that went around about 5-6 year ago where all these silver or white civics and integras were rocking small black with chrome lip wheels, some of them pulled it off ok when slammed but the average ones with 4by suspension looked hilarious

Silver or Gunmetal for a silver car.. I had silver ones on my FD years ago , it looked bad ass.

gunmetal by far. Not big on black rims on any car cause it blends in too much with the tires and get washed out.

One thing im wondering is, would it look dumb to get 15" rims and have all seasons on them? reason i ask is cause id love to get 16" (my car can go up to 17") but i have literally a new set of 15" all seasons so if i got 15" aftermarket rims, itd save me the $ having to buy summer tires. But i dont know you guys tell me.

i like the chrome on silver look, and when they match the look of the oem alloys with a meaty tire. the bigger your rims the closer they look.

do you guys think it would look dumb having 15'' aftermarket rims on say an acura(where 15 is stock and can go as high as 17) but with all seasons instead of summers? Cause i have a pair of all seasons that have 90% tread left and i cant seem to sell them, no one wants them period. My winter set is 15" on the stock alloys. If all seasons wont look bad on 15" aftermarket rims then id do that just to save me from having to buy summer tires - plus all seasons last longer than summers and cheaper!

Looks terrible imo, a lot of people will laugh if you have green wheels especially on a honda lol, I would stick with oem silver or gunmetal depending on the wheel. Even bronze is pushing it. Although, with Hondas I can deal with the OEM white type-r wheels, I have a soft spot for them.

WHITE!! As long as you keep em clean, they look the best and they stick out no matter what time it is or what the weather is like.

Unless you have big brake kit on that thing don't get a really open 5 spoke type tire or your rotors will look like toys and that is all you will see.

A nice closed or mesh wheel in gunmetal or white imo.

I never expected so many replies from you guys. Thanks a ton for all the input. I do think I am leaning more toward a mesh style rim. I am really suprised in the amount of replies that said bronze. I thought bronze only looked good on blue, green and black cars. I have looked at some pictures of bronze on silver and I don't think I like it as much as black on silver. I do like gunmetal though. This thread has unfortunately made my decision harder lol. Hopefully I can make a decision this comming week. Thanks everyone. Keep the suggestions comming though.

I'm excited to see what your decision will be! I too, have a silver car and want to replace my OEM rims with something nice for summer then steelies for winter.

For me, I find that silver-all gets boring pretty quick but some cars can definitely pull it off. Yours is easier than mine; I have an SUV haha.

Only 5-spoke looks good on it.

Wow those are 15s? And the silver ones are 17?

I found these online. 15" Local seller.

Seller just says it needs a polish.

depends on the shade of silver, if its like sugafreaks (who car is more darker silver) then white is fine but on a light silver it wont look good.

For light silver gunmetal is still the best cause its darker than the car but lighter than teh tires.

Well I went and saw Mr. Tirebob down at Urban X. After some humming and hawing I finally decided on some wheels. I went with Konig Lightspeed's in graphite (dark gray). Here is a picture of the wheel.

I'll post pics when they are in and installed. Thanks everyone for your input.
