Hey dudes,

I am looking to upgrade my stock speakers in my impreza -- I have heard they are difficult to replace since the speaker holes are so shallow.

Any ideas on speaker brands and/or the best place in cowtown to get them installed?

discuss.

Strip them all out man save some weight...Kidding...

From my car audio days...Kenwoods were generally a little bit thinner than the rest of the car audio fold...You might wanna check to see if you can build a plate that elevates the speaker giving you more depth, or if you can cut a lil out from behind the speaker man...

Find out the mounting depth of the stock speakers, and work from there. Find out how much space you have, and use that in your search for other speakers. Most good speaker brands will have the mounting depth displayed among the other information.

look into getting a custom spacer made. that way you can run any speaker/components you want.

my installer just made a couple of 3/4" (I think thats how big they were) spacers and they fit good. BTW I have some orion cobalt coaxials in my car. SOund really good, i recommend them

keep the mountingg depth under 2.6-2.7 inches.. then get 3/4 inch mdf spacers made.. this is for the fronts... the rears dont need any spacers
most speakers will fit.. cept the new eclipses

I am interested, please PM with what you want for them. Do you also have an updated spreadsheet of what is left for sale?
