Has anyone tried this out? I think i saw some pics a little while ago of a member who did this. www.exoticsracing.com

It seems like an ok/decent value. Im planning on going to vegas soon and would like to hear what any one has to say about it. Do they let you go all out? is there more than one car on the track at a time? passing aloud? etc.

Bottom line is i wanna know if im going to be able to bang the shit out of these cars and get my moneys worth. If I just do one car it would probably be the scud or the 458. cant decide.

Also, tell us which cars you drove and what you thought of them.

Thanks

It's an oval. You could get the same effect on Hwy 2 and something to emulate an exotic sports car exhaust.

Not that simply driving a nice car isn't a good experience, but paying for laps on an oval isn't what I'd call value.

Its not an oval.... look on the website. theres 2 different tracks in vegas each with 10 turns atleast. theres even video of people going around the track. give your head a shake. no one would drive around an oval for $500.

One of my best friends did this a couple months ago. They put a pro driver in the car as a coach and you take a few laps, and no you can't "bang the shit" if you wanna do that you gotta buy one. When my friend and his brother went they had a blast and said next time they go down their doing it again.

I drove 458 and Gallardo LP560 with a 2 car package back when I was down there for CES. It's not the oval but on a track on the inside.

I don't know how fast are my laps but I did 5 laps which take no more than 4mins tops. They mark braking and accelerating point with cones and they want you to follow the best line. All nannies are on and they would turn off the nannies if show some skills on the 1st few laps.

You can also do a ride along with pro drifter for $99.

Not bad but they don't open everyday. I think only twice a week. I would do it again if they have some new cars I want to try. Like the SLS or the McLaren.

SLS would probably cost $300 + a set of tires (according to Clarkson)

Motherfuck, I Google imaged the track, saw the oval and assumed that was it. Awesome.

I'm going to vegas this summer with my GF and this is the #1 thing on my list of things I want to do (first time going to Vegas too).

But you really have to wonder if something like this is profitable for the company I mean when you think of the wear and tear on these cars. One must wonder just how many laps a day/week/month/year these cars do and god knows that tires, gas, carbon ceramic brakes, clutches, fluids and other wear & tear items must add up at a crazy rate not to mention the initial cost of these cars, even at $50+/Lap

You're better off spending the money on a track day here. 5 laps isn't nearly enough to learn what a car is capable of (safely), let alone learn a track.

In Toronto you can do something like this. You get a choice of 5 or 6 exotics for 5 or 6 hours and get to drive out in the country. The cost of it was right around $700 which includes insurance and lunch.

I'm planning on doing it this year for my birthday.

Seems like a much better value then what is offered in Vegas.

That GTA tour ain't bad. But their normal daily rate is no different than anyone else. But you probably won't be able to unleash it on public road compare to a track. Especially with 6 to 7 cars in tow.

Yes, you're kinda right. I would be against doing 5 laps. I don't really get a hang of it til I'm in my 2nd car's 2nd lap.

But part of it is driving cars that I know I would never be able to convince myself to buy, let alone trashing it on the track.

BTW, here're my pics of the pit area:

http://forums.beyond.ca/st/324952/ferrari-458-italia-and-others/

And there were a bit of side show there as Nellis AFB is just south of the track. Seen and heard quite a few jets fly-by's.

cool thanks guys. Extrema, what were your thoughts after driving the 458 and gallardo? everything you dreamed of? differences/similarities? in GT5 the gallardo likes to understeer lol.

Never played GT5 but I would say that's accurate. It takes a bit more effort to keep Gallardo in line while the 458 is just point and go.

Part of it could be the weight difference too.

458 is the better car but I would assume Superleggra would be much closer.

Almost everyone there agree that Murcielago is a pretty crappy track car.

My wife and I did it last Thursday. We had nothing but rave reviews for it. The track is short, but it is great to test the cars out.

I rented a Scuderia and Gallardo SLG. I have to recommend the Scud. I won't go into too much detail, but it is twice as fun as the Lambo.

We also did ride alongs. Unfortunately the Vette was out commission (and should be for a while) so we went out in the (other) Scuderia. Super fun!

I did it in November when I was at SEMA. I chose 7 laps in the Gallardo. Excellent experience. I will go back just to do the same in the 458.
