Would you rather - SL65 Black, SLS, or SLR

Only a few of us are privileged enough to own any of these guys, but just a pure fun hypothetical - if handed one of these 3 cars, which would you pick, and why. They are now all roughly the same price, but all different beasts in their own right.

Maintainance/Winter Driving/Reliability are not considerations.

2010 SL65 Black Series (661hp, 738lb/ft tq)

In Canada or State Side? Last I heard there were only 2 65BS in Canada both on the east side.


I would take the 65BS, its already a beast, but like any car you get used to it. The 65BS has alot more potential than the other 2.

SL65 black for me too. Its power to weight ratio is slightly better than that of the SLR, and I think the proportions are better. (The SLR has too long of a front end, imo)

Interesting selection of cars to choose from. The SL65 Black is a wicked street car/daily driver. Sure it won't excel at the track when it comes to tackling corners, but the straight line speed is just awesome, and it looks the part.

The SLS, not the fastest in a straight line, but it'll run circles around the SL Black when there's twisties involved.

SLR, right in between. Tons of grip off the line, good straight line speed (somewhere between the 2), and is the best performer of the 3 at the track/twisties/back roads.

It'd be a really tough choice between the SLR and SL65 black for me. I'd probably go with the SLR... it's more subtle looking, and it's more balanced than the other 2 cars. I can't see myself driving the SLR daily though, I looked into one last year before the CLK, and the maintenance on the SLR is $$$$$. 5 year service costs $30k to replace the spark plugs (engine has to come out) and replace the fuel filter (fuel tank needs to be removed). :rofl:

Honestly, none of them - kind of slow and I can imagine the $$$$$ for maintenance.

But if I had to pick one, the Sl65B - just has a more aggressive styling that appeals to me.

I didn't want to bias any of the results but for me - No question the SLR. The only thing the SLR is lacking really is the interior - did they pick that up right off a C Class? The look of the car is just staggering, everything from the doors to the F1 inspired front end - just gorgeous. On a track, I am pretty sure that the SLR will be faster than all of these.

I was surprised to see how mixed the responses have been though! What a cool company to make three different cars, so different but all comparable in a sense. (SC V8, NA V8, TT V12)

I'd pick the SLS if it was a "daily" vehicle but if I just wanted something ridiculous, I'd get the SLR hands down. The SL65 looks badass but it looks too track orientated to me. I love the retro cool sexiness of the SLS and the SLR is pure Supercar.
