Anyone try them? they are outstanding... I had my windshield chips repaired today, and decided to goto Safway cause all my friends rave about their freshly made sandwiches (which is only available at certain locations btw, I went to the one on 130th) anyways they are amazing, and healthy...

I had chips, a pop, and the sandwich for under 7 bucks. 100x better then anything at subway or anything like that... check it out guys.

They are good but every time I get them, it takes the person like 10 minutes to make it haha. I don't really care, but it seems nobody ever knows how to make them, and always check the recipe sheets, etc.

But yes, about a million times better than Subway.

Coming from a guy that used to make them, I have no idea how they differ from Subway. Deli meat on bread with veggies.

From what I understand, Subway meat quality is as low as it gets, mostly filler, etc. I figured Safeway meats would be better, but I really have no idea. Bread & veggies are probably all the same.

I get sandwiches from the 130th Safeway all the time for work lunches. They are good

i've had them probably about 10 times, and i'm definitely not a fan. two problems: 1) too much bread, and 2) the workers don't make them enough, so they take forever and the product is very inconsistent.

Somehow I think OP is talking about the fresh sandwiches from the deli. Not the prepackaged footlong lumberjack sub.

Agreeed. The deli at safeway serves up some decent fare, the chicken fingers are good, the sandwiches are good and a couple of the soup flavours I have tried were also good.

Safeway = Winning.

I think he's talking about the paninis they have.

I used to go to the safeway on 130th for lunch all the time. Sandwich, chips and can of pop for cheap...

Yeah, I like these things too, but they always take so bloody long to make them and it's like they've never made one before.

I don't understand it.

Any meal under $10 is either a Vietnamese sub or Babylon Shawarma. 10 times better than a Safeway sandwich.

I like the 'hoagies' from the SF, I usually add sliced pickles and hot sauce, makes about 6 servings, great for a sports game party.

SF is great for quick last min 'quality' deli but kinda expensive for what they offer, pay for convenience I guess

The California Dreamin' is my fav, with some olive spread and pepperonchini's added. Yum.
Deli meats are terrible for sodium no matter where you get them.
Moderation.
