Alright I know everyone on Beyond is a high powered baller. But I am a broke student.

I was wondering if delivering pizza pays any good? I have a beat up Tercel I can use and can do minor work myself so that won't be as much of an issue. It would be in the DT area if I took the job.

I just want to pay rent :dunno:

Talk to your insurance company, you'll need different insurance.

Ya if you get into an accident while delivering for work, your regular insurance won't cover you.

My brother used to deliver for pizza 73 he used to make good money like $150 a night (Friday,Satuarday)....dont worry about insurance, it's not like the insurance company knows your delivering pizza....

My dad did it on the side after his daytime job, for about 4-5 hours a night, 430 pm till about 830pm. For 10+ years. made some good coin...$200 a night if its fridays or the weekend. Sent himself and mom on vacation a couple times a year just for delivering pizza. I say do it :)

Ya, genius, until you give someone $200,000 in medical expenses and they go after your insurance company only to get a, "Sorry, we don't cover use for work."

I'm wondering what the increase in insurance is? I've done this for many years off and on and never had proper insurance just like the other 99% of the guys who did it. But yes, you can make decent money as long as you get a good location and not driving something that's a pig on gas. I wouldn't recommend DT unless they are going to pay for parking.

To be honest as long as you work somewhere that delivers in a close area gas isn't really a issue. on average my deliveries are about 2km each way average. So only costs about 50 cent a delivery in gas.

surprisingly pizza deliveries make pretty decent money. you should be able to live off it/pay rent

It's a good side job for sure. If you can get on with a busy place that has a small delivery area, you are good.

I have a friend who delivers Chinese and he makes decent coin from it apparently. He only does it 2-3 days per week as he's a financial consultant full-time, but he does it to cover his "fun" expenses (drinking, going out, eating out etc.). Works out to 20+ per hour but obviously tips are in large part under the table.

Like 96 dollar tip plus 20 dollar delivery charge for 20 minutes driving.

One time, a girl invited me into her basement for a threesome with her friend. It was my last delivery of the night too.

You are a moron. What, you think driving around the city the whole night nothing can happen? In fact, his chances of getting into an accident increase EXPONENTIALLY...like Mar says, what happens if he gets into an at fault accident and someone sues him for $200,000...he will be fucked for the rest of his life because he listened to some dumb kid on beyond. You remind me of posts on here of dumbasses who drive without insurance because they thought nothing could happen just driving a few blocks down the street. :banghead: OP, don't be an idiot, use your head and pay the extra 10 bucks a month for the additional insurance coverage.

You think the cops give a shit if your insurance is being rated correctly or not??? They just care that you have some sort of third party liability coverage.

Your vehicle insurance needs to be rated for business use whether it is part time or full time position. Of course your insurance company isn't going to know that you're delivering pizza's. It's the day that you get involved in an at fault accident and the claims adjuster discovers that you were delivering pizzas at the time of the accident. It might be stated on the police report, third party might tell your insurance company or witness, etc... That is when you get fucked over and then you're denied coverage because of failure to inform your insurance company about this business use of your vehicle.

This is obviously too hard for a punk ass kid like Stealth141 to understand...he needs his extra 10 bucks a month for weed.

Fuck, way back when, I delivered for a delivery company that delivered for a variety of local restaurants, everything from Pizza places to KFC etc.

As I recall, it was $3 to $4 per delivery, plus tip. Was easy to make $100+ cash a night and that musta been 15+ years ago.

Fuck insurance. How the fuck are they gonna know you are "working"?

And, all they asked me was"do you drive your car to work", and I said yes ;) No one asked if I use my car WHILE at work lol.

I have a FIRM policy of never divulging more than I am asked. Don't ask, don't tell.

The cops were another story. For a short time, they had a "sting" where they were trying to get all delivery peeps to have commercial plates, but those useless twits gave up.

Go for it delivering sounds fun, I live in Fort Mac but there's a guy around here delivering pizza in his gt4 celica (rhd import) and it looks like a blast. Actually this thread gave me the idea to do this part time as well Im a student as well in a program that gives me 2 months work terms to complete a HD technician apprenticeship, but on my school terms when unemployed or even in evenings Im going to look into this. At the least it will fund all my stupid ventures with money and my projects, plus Im never really up to anything good most of the time anyways so it could be fun too. And they are always looking for guys to deliver pizza here.

Go and cause $400,000+ in damage/injuries.

You can bet your ass the insurance company will investigate you to the nines. If they can spend $395,000 and figure out a way to invalidate your insurance it is still cheaper than paying out. Trust me they will look into if you were working first thing. If you dont have business insurance they will look into how much you are driving. Obviously if you crash and cause $2500.00 then the insurance will pay and wont be too worried but really who cares at those levels of claims. It is life crushing levels of debt and pain that we buy insurance for.

Disclaimer: we have to have work insurance on our vehicles at my business and we have talked about this at length as I dont use mine enough to qualify.
