I just today bought a can of 'Dominion sure seal" Zinc weld-thru [sic] primer.

Finally read the entire can when I got home as I was in a rush.

on the can it reads:
IMPORTANT: Due to the nature of this product the maximum shelf life is 12 months.

Under the can it reads:
SZC 04-13-09 5A
09/103 16:19

a) why is this?
b) would I look like an asshole if I asked the shop to order in a fresh can for me?

That tag means it was made on the 103rd day of 2009. It's over it's shelf life so they should take it back. You still have the receipt for return to prove when you bought it right?

Yeah, I only bought it a week ago, so I've got the bill and everything.
Plus I can just grab another can off their shelf and show them all the rest of their stock is expired. :)

I decided not to use the weld through primer now at all, I'm going the adhesive route via LORD Fusor 108b.
