For those who have been there, what do you think of this chinaman buffet? Its primarily a buffet cause every time I go in, I never see anyone order off the menu lol. Its not bad for $17 (dinner), lunch buffet is $12.

But for a few dollars more ($20) Id rather go to treasures of China in the south. Only thing is theyre far but theyre better and have far more items (including prime rib, seafood, mongolian stir fry etc.

yangtze at deerfoot mall is a lot closer than treasures of china
with supposedly "the largest selection in calgary"
but this selection also includes rat droppings in the kitchen whenever ago.

Well I wouldnt think things would change in a few hours
I used to go there once and while, for the money it was always decent, though they did try to westernize it with the fries/onion rings which was kind of weird.

Recent change of owners here. The menu is definately catered towards more "westernized" tastes.

Better of to go to Imperial Dynasty way at the other end of the block of malls by the Tim Hortons and Burger King. Much much better quality food. They have a buffet also but it is small, but again IMO the food is much better quality-lots of crisp veggies and things are nice and moist. We usually just order take out anyhow.

I like Imperial Dynasty. Off the menu items are good too. New Dynasty I went to 3 years ago. Not bad.

Always order takeout from Imperial Dynasty as we live close to there. Lot better than New Dynasty but it is a lot smaller (hence the takeout).

I thought treasures of china had a change of ownership and is now called Asian buffet. When I went there under the Asian buffet name I noticed a decline in food quality although the Mongolian grill feature there was still pretty good.

The menu items are much better than the buffet (we order from Imperial Dynasty frequently when I'm too tired to cook).

The beef with wide rice noodles (162) is the beef fried ho fan (I won't butcher the name in pinyin) I love to order at just about any restaurant and it's pretty decent there. The (113) Peking Style pork chops are the pork chops in the red sweet and sour sauce that was my fav dish growing up as a kid (they're not GREAT but they're decent at this place).

You can totally mix and match (as in, still do the buffet AND order some menu items) as I've seen it done there before.

It'll do in a pinch if I'm craving Chinese food and too lazy to get my Chinese ass up to make it.
