Remote bass control - the wiring ?

I picked up the proper bass control knob for my kicker amp.
it didn't come with the wiring but i know it uses phone cabling. I ran cat5 from the back to the switch mounted in the front. the switch and amp are using 2 pair (4 wires).
I terminated them in matching order (1 to 1, 2 to 2...)

When I plug it in the subs turn off, i turn the bass control up and nothing. if i unplug them they work again.

Does anybody know what the pair ordering is on the cable? Or is their a setting I have to change on the amp ? (ZX400.1)

Sounds like your cable. They use a typical phone jack, but the actual wiring is often different given the particular manufacturer

I figured it out.

It's a non-flipped pair.

1 - 4 (white-blue to orange)
2 - 3 (blue to white-orange)
3 - 2 (white-orange to blue)
4 - 1 (orange to white-blue)

Works great now!
