I'm looking for a set of vehicle ramps that you drive up on to change your oil, etc. It seems that they are really hard items to find now! Canadian Tire only has one plastic style that I don't like. Princess Auto doesn't have any on their website...

Anyone know where to find some?

Thanks

I would just call or go to Princess Auto. Their website is so brutal to navigate through.

What is wrong with plastic ones, it is going to be hard to find anything else.

I'm sure the plastic ones should be safe, I just wanted some more choices. Canadian Tire use to sell like 4-5 different kinds.

I've got the plastic ones from crappy tire. They work great and were cheap!

Ya, for the last while I have only seen the two plastic ones at canadian tire, I use the low pro ones which work well, but would be nice if they were a bit wider. Maybe part source or napa or someone carries metal ones, but those could potentially have clearance issues if your car is low enough. If you want to spend $$$ you can get these ones http://www.raceramps.com/

Use wood and make your own. Wish I had thought of this earlier. You can customize the desired height and angle.

this, i've been very happy with my Ctire ramps, with lowered cars just use some 2x4s to get the car onto the ramps then you are good to go.

I think vehicle ramps are going out of style because they have been known to randomly collapse on people. Using a good floor jack and proper jackstands underneath the vehicle is the safer way to go.

must be some pretty stupid people, I always take a jackstand under with me where im working so I don't get crushed. I find it way faster than jacking the car up and throwing stands under her.

Really?

I love my two piece race ramps as standard ramps wouldn't work for my lowered EVO. Specially made for lowered cars and removal of the first piece makes is super easy to slide under the car.

Might work on a lifted mustang 4x4 but good luck driving up on that if youre lowered and got a lip kit.

I like the idea since you can customize the angle. Most metal or plastic ramps have much steeper inclines.

Besides, if youre car is so low that it cant even clear a block of 3/4" of wood you probably should just use a hydraulic lift.

I have the plastic Rhino ramps from CT. Very strong and absolutely nothing wrong with them. I'd buy em again for sure.

Wow...look what happened this morning when my dad was trying to drive up on the ramps to do an oil change:

Thankfully he wasnt underneath at the time. Fuck these cheap POS metal ramps. Im going to make a set using wood stacks instead.

Tell your dad not to cheap on on ramps. This is what a real set looks like. Notice the supports so you don't kill yourself?

agreed, I was wondering how the hell the people that engineered those black ones thought that was a good idea.

Another great example though as to why (as I mentioned) you'd be an idiot not to bring a jackstand under with you while your car is on ramps. No intelligent person (who isn't cutting corners) relies on even a good floor jack to hold up their car so why would ramps be any different

I got these cheap a while ago...never gave much thought to how strong they were. The scary thing is that these cheap metal ones are actually very popular and I see many people using them. Any metal stand can succumb to rust over the years...so you never really know how strong it is.

I always put jackstands under the car...but this time didnt even get a chance to and they already collapsed.
