So I got pulled over by a police yesterday. He wrote me a ticket but it seems as though he spelled my postal code wrong. The "1" in my postal seems to be a "7" as I noticed it didnt match the rest of the "1's" he had on the ticket and it matched the other "7's". I heard before that if any information is spelled wrong that the ticket is thrown out.

Is this true? Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks Beyond!

In this case, the error is probably not significant enough for the ticket to be thrown out. The officer also has a time period (I think 6 months) to reissue it if an error is present.

No they would not throw it out based on that.

I had a ticket like this and it was not tossed out.

If your name is wrong, or the date is wrong, or the offence code is wrong, etc. - Then it's probably going to get tossed if you decide to fight it.

Fight it anyhow.

Advice: The only thing certain here is if you don't fight it, you're definitely stuck with it. So fight it, as it greatly increases your odds of not being stuck with it!!! Pretty god damn simple.

it wouldnt be significant enough, plus if he officer is from europe, the "1"'s are spelt more like 7's, which is really quite confusing

1's and 7's are usually handwritten in a manner that can be confused if you try hard enough. theres things that will get a ticket thrown and this isn't one of them.

Try and fight it, they likely won't throw it out but for simply showing up to fight it chances are good they might reduce it right there on the spot.
