So recently I got this email (from SAIT) regarding about a honour society known as Phi Theta Kappa. There is a $85 membership fees, and apparently it is internationally recognized society and it will make my resume look good.

Has anyone joined this society? Or is this a scam?

Any person who considers paying $85 to join an "Honour Society" like this should know that they may end up walking funny for a while; and it's not due to having a lighter wallet.

Ive been offered as well and its bogus from what ive read online.

However they had a info session about 2 weeks ago that i missed, but essentially they claim it they offer scholarships to univ for members of PTK. There are only a few participating univ in Canada, most are in the states.

You could always put something along the lines of, Selected for Phi Theta Kappa, on ur resume.

Or, you could always state ur GPA and its essentially the exact same thing.

Employers won't care. This society is open to pretty much anyone with the right GPA, so it's not exclusive.
