WTB: Small Pickup

I am looking for a small truck for the summer to haul a bike around in and to make trips to the mountains and back. Looking for a manual with a 4-cylinder engine, under 3 liters. Something along the lines of an older Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Mazda B-Series or Chevy S10. Hoping to spend less than $3000, but would consider paying more for the right vehicle.

kijiji has:
- 1990 supercab 2wd manual 3.0l ranger with a topper. $1500.
- 1997 regular cab 2wd manual 4.0l ranger with topper $2600.
- 1996 supercab 2wd manual 4.0l $2000

Don't be scared of the 4.0l ranger engine, it gets about the same mileage as the 3.0.

If it was me, I'd go for one of the second generation, 1993 and later.
