Hello Guys.

Since there is quite a lot of students here on Beyond, it would be nice to know where summer students or new grads are going to be working this summer, the type of work you will be doing and your education background.

Who knows, maybe some of us will be working in the same place!

I locked down a summer position with 'Total E&P' doing CSR and Stakeholder relations.
My background is a completed Undergraduate in Economics and currently working towards my MBA at Haskayne.

Dont have an official job yet. Still trying to get in with a bank as a teller. Worst case ill go back to my old job in construction--good money, but does nothing for my resume.

3rd year BBA in Financial Services.

I'm moving to Fernie for a 16 month internship with a mining company.
Can't wait either :D

Done 3 years of mech eng at the u of c

Production engineering summer student at Penn West Petroleum. Just finished 2nd year mechanical engineering. Start in two weeks.

I have myself a job lined up at my old internship company, finishing electrical engineering this June.

Just finished my Kinesiology degree majoring in Sport and Rec Management. Was interning with the Flames, still with them part time but their full time pay is not very good.

Ended up finding a job as a Community Programmer for the Town of High River and doing consulting work for a golf course as well.

Did an internship at a big O&G last year, and they hired me back :D Position is an IT Business Analyst for internal upstream clients.

Background: will be finished my software engineering degree after my last exam this Friday!

I'm working for the government again working on a research project, pending available funding. Otherwise, I'll be down on 5th ave and 8 st collecting change!

for new grad engineers looking for jobs: Hatch, Jacobs, Weir, and Schlumberger are hiring for sure (at least for mech engg)

For the summer I'll be working downtown for a large oil&gas company doing things related to carbon strategy and offsets, emissions management and other environmental economics topics related to their operations in the oil sands.

Just finishing my economics degree before heading to grad school next year for more econ :nut:

Im a second year BBA student at Mt royal.

I'll be loading diesel railcars for Gibson Energy up in Edmonton for the summer.
