View Full Version : Tell Me What You Think

This will have to happen over winter, but i talked to RPM and it can be done for a price  which acually was a lot cheaper then i would have thought...
ill put a couple pics up tell me what you think...
they are all really bad PS jobs by me

ConVict

me putting it on a small pic of the sides skirts and rear bumper i have laying at home...

ConVict
09-10-2002, 01:28 AM
i tried to color match it, but got bored
the angle isnt quite right... and i dont have that paint job anymore... i plan on getting a touring spoiler or something to blend out the aggressive ness...
and like i said i have those sides skirts and bumper of that proir pic...

so my question to you is, is, will it look good... or is it to agressive..

oh ya, and the only reason im acually putting this bumper on is because i need to feed my intercooler and they dont make ANY open mouth kits for the probe ( this is from a 240 )

Looks like veilside and pontiac teamed up to make that

No seriously though, It just doesn't suit my taste. I'd find another way to feed your intercooler. Probes always look good to me with very smooth, broad lines.

Well if the Photoshop jobs wernt so BAD it might look okay! Not that i could any better( No photoshop exp.) Get someone to fix the pic and then the opinions might be a bit different.:dunno:

is that a bomex front , I was unaware they made anythign for that car....in my opinion I wild front end on a clean car with no sideskirts or rear doesnt look good......id keep it clean.....
spend the money on a sweet set of coilovers and some killer rims and your car will look hype

He said its from a 240, and RPM will mould it to fit his car. He also has skirts and a rear bumper laying at home, but the front bumper for the kit he has won't fit on his car (he bought the LX body kit because no one makes one for the GT)

It's a bit much aggressive for my tastes... but it's your car. You should go with what you like, not with what everyone else likes.

ConVict
09-10-2002, 10:46 PM
i already have rims, coil overs, side skirts and a bumper... but im not going to put sides and a rear on a car with out a front...
plus i need a wide mouth kit for my intercooler there is NO way around it.. unless i feel like cutting a hole in my front bumper..

30 psi with out intercooler is a big no no...
240 is the only car that is similar enough to acually make the swap..

infamous
09-10-2002, 10:48 PM
imo that looks nice.....it would look nicer in real life with no ps'ing

AaronS13
09-11-2002, 08:29 PM
looks like an early 89-90 240front end combined with a skylineish front end... some people have thought my S13 looks like a probe, so i guess why shouldn't your probe look like an S13...

personally, i think its a bit too aggresive given the lines of your probe, but thats just me...

what manufacturer makes the bumper? With the blue background, it looks like a pic off the bomex website...

ConVict
09-11-2002, 11:24 PM

ConVict
09-12-2002, 12:00 PM
some skanks would be nice, you can never have to many...
so you guys see what im dealing with, i either punch a skank trap in my stock bumper or get the one above...
tell me either or

HRD2PLZ

if you are looking for something else, just check out www.takakaira.com look for the bodykits for the Nissan 180SX... they discontinued the 180SX in 98 (think hatchback 240SX) so you'll have plenty of choices for front kits with big gaping holes that look good... hope that helps some...

you can also check out www.autoimaging.com for some kits as well... don't get that bomex kit, you can find something WAY better (all my opinion of course:D )

How's that gonna help ConVict out with his Probe?? Can you fit an 180 kit easily on a Probe?

get the one above. it looks :bigpimp: and a lot better than having holes in your bumper

ummm... did you miss the part where he said that the kit is from a 240SX/180SX in the first place??? RPM is custom mounting it...

this will help if he still wants to get a 240/180 front kit... it'll offer him more choices...

T5_X
09-12-2002, 04:48 PM
would this one work, or do you need something with a bigger opening?

hmmmmm thats too bad i love the stock look of your car without a kit.... personally i wish youd leave it..... but i guess not, just dont go to agressive imo:thumbsup:

so it looks like most of you dont like it... is it that it doesnt match the car or is WAY to aggressive... you have to remeber that in that pic my car is a diff color and BLACK at the bottom, so it looks higher then it is... now its painted, and i HAVE side skirts that make the car an inch off the ground and a rear bumper that is in good taste... so its not like im sticking some huge front on a stock car...

AaronS13
09-13-2002, 08:35 PM
i dunno... personally, when i see a kit like that, i look for either the HUGE aluminum wing, or the shogun wing....

but, its your car, and by all means, if you like it, thats all that matters... and for all of us that aren't running 30PSI, well, you'll fly by us before we can even comment on the bumper :burnout:

so go for it... do your own thing, and enjoy your car for what it is...

check around though, thats not the only bumper with a big enough opening for an intercooler....

ConVict

www.autoimaging.com out of Minnesota can probably get it for you...

RPM maybe for here in town....

otherwise, you can order direct from www.takakaira.com and they will ship it out here for you...

bomex makes beautiful bumpers, i think with the right touch it will
look wicked on your car!

ConVict
09-22-2002, 11:25 PM
well any opinions... C West or Bomex... dont say niether unless you got a pic of a diff bumper ?
anyone, im kinda stuck cause i like C West a lot but its 750 american just for the front bumper

Illusionsir
09-23-2002, 04:27 AM
i say go with the bomex, if you do, it will add a very aggressive look to your front end. just make sure the body shop that does it, does a good job. you dont want the bumper to look like a hack job! but i say go with it!

Weapon_R
09-24-2002, 11:37 AM
Isnt there a factory front and rear bumper for your car? I've seen it on an older light blue probe. It also has side body mouldings included. Any idea what i'm talkin about?

ConVict
09-24-2002, 11:59 PM
ya the GT's have different ground effects and what not then the basic LX, and GL body!
there is also a erebuni body kit, and also a Xenon kit but niether offer a wide mouth on them ..

ninjak84
09-25-2002, 05:15 PM
look into erebuni before you buy from them though.
the people i have spoken with have had nothing but fitting troubles with their kits. they do make some nice kits though, at a decent price.

I have a probe and I am looking into the same thing you are doing and i am thinking of going with the bomex kit cause it looks good and wook fuck up the front too much. the 240 and probe are so similiar that it shouldn't be too much to match up the lines. bomex is very expensive and takes a long time to get here though my bro had a bomex kit that he ordered from rpm. I have noticed that getting anything for a probe is like death, i can't find anytihng. well go to groundeffects.com and check out the 240 section and look into the shogun one it has super wide mouth and looks dope. peace keep on probe'in
