Or everyone says they will buy another one day.

They seem to go up in price actually. There is one ap2 selling in the marketplace here for 21k... but everyone else is selling theirs for alot more. It seems that 02's are selling for $20000 now.

S2000 is a wicked car.

Slow in a straight line, it wastes a lot gas for a 2.0, useless torque around town, but man does it ever put a smile on your face.

370 is a huge improvement over the 350, but no way would I take it over an S2000, ESPECIALLY a convertible one. Thing overheats on mild track duty, STOCK. Sorry but I'm not putting an oil cooler on my car just to do some spirited driving.

Sooner or later I'll turn mine into a track toy.

Cool car. Although for some reason I can never see myself in one. Feel like I'd be too big for it or something. And apparently they aren't that fast.

In fact I got one offered as a trade for my 350z but I didn't go for it. I wouldn't mind driving one just to see how I like it and then who knows maybe I'd be down for a trade. Haha

Congrats on the purchase.

American muscle my friend. Corvette is all power.

S2K is completely different. High revving, sweet shifting, mash the gas all the way to 8000rpms. Personally I prefer low end torque lol

If I could put the NSX 3.2 into the S2K, I think that would be perfect lol

I've seen 2000s in the USA selling for under $10,000 and I've been emailing back and forth with Johnson Honda in Florida about a yellow 2008 they have with 37,000 miles, I think they're selling it for $22,000. They wouldn't finance me once they found out I was leaving the country with it.

Im pretty sure I left you a message back haha I will double check.
Yeah I don't think you can get a loan from a american dealer. Best bet if your buying a s2000 from the states is to get a loan from the bank here ( not sure if you can do that to buy a american car) or pay cash which is what I did when I bought my second s2000 so I'm not sure on the whole financing a american car.

Ya you did, just wondering if you had any new information. I guess not if you're paying cash. The bank here wouldn't loan me money on it neither because they can't put a lien on the car until it's registered in Canada so they have no backup plan.

You would be fine. When I was driving one I was the same height but heavier and I wasn't that uncomfortable. Try it out at the dealer first and see if it'll work for you. AP1 has less space and the general consensus is that it's less comfortable too

So wicked!

Drop the top and you're off. I have an early AP1 and even with very nice winter tires it had a tendency to slide its rear a lot. Pretty unpredictable at times, so you always have to concentrate.

This is so true. Well...I didn't get a chance to change out the tires and I was rolling on stock wheels and rubber and going down the highway was dodgy as fuck. I was pretty much looking out the passenger side window the entire drive!! :nut:

fun nonetheless but yeah, you have to be concentrating not to get the end out.

Only AP2 came with VSA (vehicle stability assist)

max_boost
05-04-2011, 11:31 AM
I know it has the VSA but how stable is that thing even with either performance winter tires or softer tires?

Not all RWD cars are created the same and I know my 330 was an absolute tank with winter tires.

I think the S2K can be driven reasonably 90% of the year, just avoid the really heavy snow fall days.

Damn it I really want one now. LOL

4doorj
05-04-2011, 12:19 PM
Heavy snow falls are the funnest especially at night when nobody is around. Usually calgary winters are pretty good. We usually have good shoveled off pavement so having a lowered car wasn't a problem. Unlike this year where the snow never melted. But usually its really easy to drive on calgary roads during winter. The only hard days was when snow melts and freezes and there is black ice. Those days you have to concentrate more. But with good winter tires the car is fine. Not going to lie it takes more concentration then most cars. Also on bad days I stayed off the highspeed highways and stayed on the side streets.

But honestly the s2000 is just as much fun during winter as it is in summer.

What he said ^. I drove my s2 throughout the entire winter this year. The winter tires definitely helped, but any amount of snow was cake. It would only be hard to drive if there was ice around, especially on deerfoot.

I found that it handled better in the snow than any of my previous fwd cars. Very predictable, and soooo easy to control even when the snow is a foot deep. Never got stuck once! haha :D

Never got stuck once! haha :D

How the hell do you drive in a foot of snow? Man I need stock front bumper so I have more ground clearance for winters LOL.

Edit: Damn another edit :banghead:
For those of you who have owned both AP1's and AP2's, which one do you prefer? My buddy has an AP2 and the interior looks so much nicer than my AP1's so I'm contemplating whether I should sell mine and get an AP2. How do the engines compare? Thanks in advance :)

Were there any changes for the S2000 from 06 to 09? Looks like they were carryovers.

Only thing I found was this on Edmunds.

What's New for 2008:

All S2000s this year have a revised gauge cluster, and Honda says it's retuned the regular model's suspension for better high-speed stability.

I think any rear wheel car with snow tires should be easy enough to drive. Drove my z through out the winter with Blizzaks and had no problem. Minus the really fresh/lot of snow days, cause I didn't
want to be a plow, considering it's really low.

Other than that VDC (vehicle dynamic control) kicked in and did it's job. A lot of fun with it off sometimes as well. Hehe

Yeah I drove my 1993 MR2 Turbo for an entire winter with winter tires and never had a problem at all within the city and that car didn't even have the benefit of traction control.

Why not keep the Leggy and buy the S2k? I've got an 05 Leggy GT Wagon and an 06 S2k. :D

I'm 6'4" and 212lbs.. I fit fine. The seat base is lowered 1.5" with the Backyard Auto seat rails though.

Because then I have to save up for the S2000, and then I have to insure and register two cars, and maintain two cars, and I will want to modify two cars, and I will never save up enough money to buy a house lol.

There was one for sale locally at Country Hills Toyota awhile back... you should check if they still have it.

Do you guys think Honda will come out with another s2000? Haha or will the 09 be another collectors item that will depreciate slowly lol

I'm probably the biggest Honda fan boy on here (had a DC2, NA1, AP1) but even I have lost faith in their product line. It'll Atleast be 3-4 years before they have anything exciting.

Thanks for the tip guys, do you know what options it had and how much it was ?
