Not guilty plea - trial date / conviction?

Quick question for those in the know:

If I plead not guilty for a ticket and have a trial date set for (for example) a year from now, does this mean absolutely nothing about this ticket will show up on my driving record until the trial date (depending on the outcome)?

correct, but trial dates are usually set 4-6 months out, and rescheduling them can be a huge hassle
