Where in calgary can I take my turbo to get balanced? Alamo wants <$150 for a simple balance.

Thats the cost of one tank of gas in many vehicles and doesn't look like a bad price to me. I don't think there is a 'simple' balancing on a 100,000 rpm turbine that I would want to experience.

..FYI I found a place called Superior Diesel in Calgary that will do it for $50. Im not being cheap, I'm just a little harder to bendover than some of you guys. Industry norm for a dynamic balance is ~$50 in the states..

Well, i hope it works for you, i really do. Im just a strong believer that you get what you pay for. I find some of alamo's prices out to lunch too, not sure about that one tho.
i was just thinking, whats it take, two hours? Two hours at 75$ an hour is 150$, so, that was my take on it.

Low speed turbo balancing shouldnt even take all of 30 min. It's just that they need to pay for their $3000 machine... And the shop is a certified holset dist soo quality is not an issue.

I picked my turbo up from them today! He trimmed a tad off the turbine in a couple spots and just slightly touched the compressor. Nice people ..I think techs name was Jim. What more can I say?..Save $100 over Alamo and get it back the next day!

The Turbine/shaft and the compressor wheel get balanced.
