wich piggyback fuel computer are you using how do you like it

the afc is a great unit, its simple, fairly easy to use and allows for easy tuning...what system are you guys running and how do you like it

SAFC :thumbsup: Seems to do exactly what I need it to do. Pretty good for a piggyback. My only complaint is that when running the "hack" for bigger injectors, going from zero throttle to a little throttle gets a little rough. I have had to change my driving style a bit because of that. Another thing I like about my SAFC is being able to read my o2 sensor voltage to a thousanth of a volt. eg. 0.675v using the second map sensor voltage wire.

I'm using the LINK ECU. It comes with the following:

- Replacement ECU board
- MAP Sensor
- Knock Sensor
- Boost Control unit/solenoid
- Serial Interface Port (PALM or Windows)
- Control Keypad

As with any other standalone system, it takes time and patience to get it right. Expect to run really rich and waste a lot of gas before getting everything dialed in proper =).

The LINK is extremely easy to tune and in my opinion, *almost* foolproof with the knock sensor and timing retard features.

The LINK software I have is not written by LINK. Instead, it was actually written by some guy in the east and sold through Flying Miata. I'm not familiar with the one for the Subaru so I can't really comment.

however, as with any aftermarket ECU's it still takes a lot of time to tune it. I'm the first to admit that I'm no expert at it still after 2 yrs and 4 software revisions.

Not sure if you are in Calgary but I'd be glad to show you or anyone how the ECU works.

Yup. I'm lucky in the sense that I've got a buddy in town with a nearly identical 1.6L setup and he's tuning with a wideband O2. He simply gives me his fuel and timing maps and I just load it onto my ECU.

yep i'm in calgary. i'd like to see it sometime.

not sure of what difference between the link and link 2 software. http://www.carmodifications.com sells subaru link 2's and provides a baseline map. enough for you to start up your car and idle... the rest is on your own.
