I'm debating selling my car and I don't want to put up with tire kickers and going to meet with people and deal with no shows and my buddy was telling me he heard on the radio that Regal can sell the car for me...

Anybody have any info or experiences on this? Any headaches involved? What is their cut? Do I get to set my price?

I dont want to hand it over to them and only get like $10,000 or something lowball like that from them ;)

Cheers guys

I know, i've read the website a bit, I was looking for more feedback on a personal experience, seeing if there were any headaches involved, etc.

Those are only buyer fees, for seller, I believed they take a 10% cut which is pretty deep IMO.

You're not going to get what you want value wise.

If you put a reserve of $10,000, you'll get an $8000-$9000 offer, and if you accept I believe you pay 10% of the sale price to Regal + $10 for every time they run the vehicle

Not worth it IMO

You can expect to make less from an auction than from selling your car privately. The plus side is that if there are some defects you are trying to hide, auction buyers don't get test drives.

I sold one car at auction, but it was a car I bought for $500, drove and beat for a year, and it sold for $200 a year later. I couldn't be bothered to put up the the kijiji tire kickers for that kind of money. If it was a $10,000 car, I'd work my ass off to make the full amount.

I should just sell it on beyond then, less chance of the kijiji time wasters and if i get screwed with a fake cheque or some bullshit I'll sick the beyond CSI on them ;) haha

you wont get decent value, most people there are dealers and wont pay a lot because they need to make a profit reselling it.

This is going to make me sound like a complete scrub, but can anybody give me some tips/advice on all of the paperwork involved and shit when selling a car? All cars I've sold in the past were to friends & family members so I never had to worry about making sure all my bases were covered since I knew the people obviously very well.

Sorry for my noobness ;)

there's a sticky at the top of the cars section in the marketplace, it has a link to the alberta bill of sale with pdf text boxes... fill in your info and the car info, print 2 copies, when you find a buyer, you collect the money, and fill in the other portion, sign both copies, have the buyer and witness sign both copies, one's for you, one's for the buyer.

Well, I'm not in a huge rush to sell my car so I'll probably have to just put up with the spam to my pm box of the lowballers for awhile

I'll give you 2 chickens, a box of old Maxims, and some leftover Easter malt balls for it.

I went through Regal to get rid of a car. I had the car listed at 3000 private sale, had 1-2 people look at it, bunch of time wasters...

I sold it for 2700 through regal, and I think I saw about 2500 of that. Dropped it off early saturday morning, got a cheque in the mail less than a week later if memory serves me right.

Are any of those issues the ones with Jennifer Love Hewitt? Excellent retro-spank material.

Will trade two ducks for these.
