Has anyone had a chance to check this place out yet? I believe it opened up some time this week and is the first in Canada??

Famous in the US for hotdog eating contests I'm told, may have to check it out sometime this weekend.

I noticed I didn't specify this place is out in Airdrie, same strip mall area has 5 guys.

Its fun only at Coney Island, NY for the experience. I think it is otherwise bland and overpriced.

I tried them out when I was in Vegas last January. I can't say they weren't bad, but didn't find them outstanding or anything. Talking to a coworker that's from out east, sounds like this isn't the first one in Canada. He's says he's had them out there before. Probably the first one in Western Canada.

Auntie Anne's Pretzels uses Nathan's in their pretzel dogs though. If you ever have the chance to have a pretzel dog, I'd recommend the jalapeno cheddar pretzel dog. Now that was something worth writing home about.

Nathans and Pinks are terrible. I prefer the hot dogs from Macs lol

I'm not a fan of all beef hotdogs.

Pork tastes better for hotdogs.

Nathans is gross IMO. Tubby Dog on 17th is probably the only place I paid money for a hot dog and didn't hate my self after.

Nathans is Gross!!!!

Tried their Cheese Steak too, it was nasty too.

Costco has better hot dogs for a better price too :D

I can't eat hotdogs to begin with but the thought of one called 'Pinks' is beyond revolting.

Exactly. Walk in the exit, if someone stops you tell them you're applying for a membership, lol.

Had Nathan in Airdrie a few weeks ago, and... well... it was a hotdog. :dunno:

They check membership half the time i swear.

If they stop you just point to the furthest-visible person and say you are with them.

In years of having a membership, not once have we ever been asked for it at the food stand.

Maybe a misunderstanding, but thats not what i had meant.

But i meant as you walk in they ask for proof of membership and I just put up a solution on how to get around it.

I really don't like all-beef hot dogs. I far prefer ones that are a pork/beef mix. They tend to be juicier and have better flavour.

However I think Nathan's is originally a Jewish company which explains the sub-standard wieners.

So while they might be the best all-beef hot dogs they aren't that good when you are someone that isn't religiously obligated to avoid pork.
