$34+tax for a jug. Works out to approx. $7.6/liter which is about how much it would be if you buy a 55gallon bulk drum (I was contemplating it but decided against it since I wasn't uncertain of its shelf life once opened)

The only problem is that since you've got a bunch of caksuckers who buy like 10-20 at a time and go store to store, so you have to hit it right or they'll all be gone until the next sale.

Good price if you want brand name synthetic. The best deal Ive seen on synthetic was $15 for 5L jugs of Motomaster Formula 1 around boxing day.

Which Wal-Mart? I've checked multiple ones (Deerfoot Meadows, MacLeod Trail, Shawnessy) and I've never seen it for that price at Wal-Mart, let alone any jugs of 5w30 at Wal-Mart (it's like they stopped carrying it)

Yea, Wal-Mart always has 5w20, 10w30, etc.. etc.. jugs, but never 5w30. They used to carry it, but I havn't seen any on their shelves in the last several months.

I'm relatively new to synthetics but have reading up on several forums lately. What is the general consensus for using this mobil 1 which people say shears down very easily for a daily driver turbo car with occasional spirited driving?

Is there much benefit to going to a people's favorite German Castrol or rotella t5/6 for just a daily driver?

Was at the CT at Beacon Hill today and picked up 3 jugs. I've seen Mobil 1 at Wal-Mart before selling for 50 bucks or so, but that was for a 5L jug and not a 4.4L

I was at The Real Canadian Wholesale place a few weeks back, the one near 16th ave and 19th st (not sure if there is more than one). You don't need any membership card, and a 4.4L Mobil 1 synthetic is $34.99 regular price :)

It's the same as Castrol Syntec, they just changed the name recently to Edge with SPT (Syntec Performance Technology). Edge with Titanium is supposedly even better.

The 0W30 grade is still made in Germany, I picked up a bunch a while ago from Crappy Tire.

Just another bump. CT has the 4.4L jugs with the extra 1L bottle for $29.99 and the above posted coupon works with it as well. Picked up a Jug/bottle just now for $22.06 all in.
*edit* Coupon doesn't work at all locations. I was at the Huntington Location, picked up a jug/bottle and the kid took the coupon. Later, finding another jug with coupon in hand, had to go to the Pacific Place location, and they didn't accept the coupon. YMMV

I don't like switching oil brands as I have always used Castrol but for the past 2 wheels I have been waiting for a sale on the Castrol and it has yet to go on sale!! and the x5 is due for a oil change soon
