Seed/angel capital ....

I've been trying to find some websites that can offer some more detailed information about the world of seed capital for a project I have in mind for oil/gas industry. Not having a ton of luck finding any quality information just yet, wondering if anyone here has some experience with this and can point me in the right direction.

As far as I know, in the Oil and Gas biz in Calgary, the "seed" capital usually comes from people already inside the business. There are a couple hundred millionaires in Calgary who already understand this somewhat unique industry, those are your best bet. Are you already in the industry? Have you built up some contacts with established senior Geo/Eng/managers?


Typical Venture Capital companies do not invest in oil and gas.

Yeah my situation is that I know some senior guys who have branched off and formed their own companies, sold them off ... and have $$ to spare, but I was looking to have some more rounded information on the subject before I even approach them.
