I would suggest an archival grade pen. Something without acids and such.

yea hit up an art shop, they should be able to tell you what you need. Some pens tend to streak, so I know what you mean.

I like the Sakura Pens. They're even waterproof! I used some for my field course and they stood up to weeks (and still going) in 100% ethanol with no streaking or fading or any of that. The Sakura brand also have pen brushes which are really fun to write with if your into markers and brush strokes and all that jazz. They also range from 0.3mm to 5mm stroke sizes so thats a big plus and allows for a large range of writing styles. They're awesome pens.
