Anyone ever used these? Just curious about how the price compares to a taxi ride!

I've used driver's choice several times. I'd say they are comparable to cab fare. I used them from Bootlegger's in the NE up to Kincora and it was just under 60 bucks.

It's best if you call them and give them a few hours notice tho - I don't think they have that many drivers so it's hit/miss if you call them and say you need a driver right away. I usually give them about 2 hrs notice.

If you do this, I'd recommend keys please, really good people.

No issues with letting some stranger drive you home in your car?
Thatd be kind-of awkward I'd think.

Key's please was awesome, used them about 9 months ago. Some older guy (50's) came to drive my car with 3 of us there. He was rocking out to Sabbath with the 4 of us on the drive home, awesome karaoke session!

It'll only be awkward if you make it awkward.

+1 for Keys Please

Prices are usually more than the average cab fare, but not by much..
I'd say most of the time it's worth the extra $$ to get your car home the same night haha

$40 one way to get to my house in a cab, $50 with keys please. It's well worth it since I'd be paying $40 x 2 to get downtown and come home in a cab.

I started using drivers choice maybe 2 years ago give or take 4-5 months...

Love them, I'm pretty familiar with the staff, and apparently am now a preferred customer...

Always very courteous and professional. Awesome people, and I've actually got to know a few of them pretty well...

(And I trust them with a $96k vehicle)... Actually alot of them have quite a bit of experience driving larger vehicles (busses, trucks, etc...) so you don't have to worry about their skill and stuff...

Pretty good rule of thumb for any situation.

I always assumed they were dramatically more expensive, since you're saving taking a cab one way, this is actually a pretty good idea...

I've used Keys Please/Driving Knights on more than one occasion. I always found them very careful with my car.

Sweet, thanks for the info. The only other thing I was curious about is from a liability perspective - do they have some additional form of insurance or would they just be covered under the policy of the car?

As far as I know, your car insurance follows your car. If you lend someone your car you lend them your insurance as well.
