yes i ride with them i enjoy minimal scratches to the fairings if my bike goes down

From what I remember frame sliders do not protect the fairings much. It allows the frame to slide on a puck instead of your bike catching a weird angle and flipping on to the other side.

And yes I ride with cut Hotbodies frame sliders, tried the vortex ones and they also did the job.

Yes I have them so when I drop the bike in the driveway they protect the bike.

If you crash at speed expect the bike to dig in and flip.

They definately help mminimize fairing damage. Crashed on concrete and slid into grass and never had one flip yet.

Sliders work slightly differently depending on the bike and model of sliders.

I've had a bike dropped at speed and the slider just bent and wore down. With another bike, at a dropped stand-still, the bike was fine save for a broken mirror.

I dont know why these things dont come from the factory as options. Bikes will get dropped in their lifetime, somewhere.

I have them on my FJR because I'm bad for dropping it in the driveway. They've already taken one hit, and I didn't accrue any new scratches on the plastics. All in all, totally worth it. Plus, I can use them to hook a calf when I want to stretch on the highway.

ive dropped a couple of bikes with frame sliders and never any major damage to the fairings. Have had to replace the sliders a few times tho. And I always use the extended ones, since they wear down nicely when dropped while moving

If i decide to buy and install the sliders, can i take them off at a later date with the bike looking like i never put them on at all before?

it depends on the bike. some sliders require fairings to be cut.

They are more for protecting your engine then the plastics.. Plastics are easily replaced, engine covers not so much when you grind thru them.

I always run em..

many bikes need to have holes cut for the frame sliders. You can however get the no-cut sliders which are supposed to be less effective
