eh... thanks for the write up. Now I know not to go there..

You know the saying tho... If you want something done right.. do it yourself.

Takes time to make a car look good but itll be done to your specs once it is cleaned up!

Good enough for $25.

Perfection is not cheap. DIY if you got time.

Wow, that is a shitty detail job, even for a quick one. If the regular price on that is $50, that's a rip off IMO. They omitted lots of pretty basic stuff that would have taken literally 10 additional seconds to make look perfect (i.e. wipe windows once more to remove streaks, vacuum seat crack, wipe trunk liner, etc.) Doesn't look like they even touched your interior at all.

I bet anyone here could do a way better job than that in an hour.

It seems like the detailing companies are missing the point of the dealfind/groupon offers. They should be using it to get people in the door and then they should be providing a service worth more than the deals face value to attract repeat customers.

Instead, they are participating in the offers (likely providing the services at a loss) but failing to provide sufficient quality to warrant return customers at full value. So basically taking losses....to drive away customers...:dunno:

I also got one of these back when they went on sale, totally forgot I had it. Wonder if the owners know the outcome of your deal and if everybody else will be the same.

For $25, I'd be more worried about them fucking up my paint than making it look good.

That's another good point. Guaranteed it was a rushed job to say the least. I wouldn't want any of that "scent" in my car either. :thumbsdow For Car Zone.

The problem w/ detailing is that after a while it's very back breaking work, even minor stuff like vacuuming the interior. So you may start off with the intent for it to be a loss leader, but after a few there's no way in hell you want to give 110% anymore.

I have to maintain 6 cars and I'll tell ya, by car 4 I'm burnt out and I don't give a damn if there's dust in the air vents or not.

Granted, as a business you can't take that type of attitude, but I can see how it develops when you're valuing your hard labor less than what you'd be making at McDonalds.

Based on OP's post I'd say he got what he paid for; however, i'm 99% certain they micromarred the hell out of his clearcoat.

Car detailing is a shitty job and in Calgary, lucky if you can get work for 1/2 the year.

I'm pretty sure places like ShineFactory charges way more than $25 for service rendered in this deal. And seeing how many exotics and luxury cars going thru that shop, they must be doing something right.

I went to the same people with the same coupon. I wasn't impressed either to be honest. Especially with the interior and even the exterior wasn't that great. Wish I had actually seen the car before I left a $10 tip.

I was speaking to the younger/manager guy there. Was nice enough to chat to and stuff. And he said owners made a killing on these coupons. He said they sold $46K's worth and it doesn't even cost them half of that including supplies/labour etc.

For $25 that's not bad. If I can get my hands on a voucher I'll go there, but I don't want them to do the exterior

It took about 45-60 minutes, and I made my appointment around 3-4 weeks in advance. I did book another time I think in March and I was able to get any time I wanted, so maybe most people has used theirs now.
