Hi Beyonders, need some input here. I am looking in getting the wife a small SUV. I am about to go take a look at the following vehicles 2008 Acura RdX and a 2007 Nissan Murano. Can you guys let me know what your takes are on both vehicles good or bad.

Thanks

I've had horrible luck with Acura auto transmissions. I know a few people with Murano's - and though not as nice as an MDX, waaaay less expensive to maintain.

I thought they fix the transmission issue I remember having the same issue with my 99 TL

Murano's have unsavory blind spots, most women I talk to hate how small the back window is.

Both are really good choices, but the murano is definitely larger and has a solid reputation shy of lifters and tcase leaks.

Test drive both with her before doing too much homework.

I own a RDX and have had a Murano as a rental, so I can't comment on the Muranos reliabilty, but the RDX is a much nicer vehicle in every way. We haven't had to do any repairs on it and I just had a full inspection done.

What's your budget like? My wife has been talking about selling hers to pay off a business loan.

I would go with the 08 RDX. Looks are way better compared to a Murano.

The only thing the Murano has going is the CVT tranny. Nissan has done a extended warranty of 10 years or 200,000KM starting last year I believe.

Now if this was an 09 Murano vs 08 RDX. I'd go with the 09 Murano. New redesign and new technology.

08+ Murano > 08RDX > 07 Murano

I only hate RDX for rear headroom and turbo lag.

You should be able to find a Very good murano for that price. They also hold value really well!

I think we're going to list it at the lower end of your range. Send me a pm if you're interested. Its a silver 08 loaded with the Tech package.

I know they are not the same league but Kia Sportage can be had at that price range with current discounts.

I vote RDX as well. I hate CVT transmissions (personal preference there), and the RDX has a sweet little motor. Also Acura reliability/resale, etc. RDX is a solid vehicle.

Pretend you don't know what their mileage is like.

Edit.; This leaves you and extra $10k for a gas card.
