W..T..F...

*Warning...apparently a couple people have gotten a trojan from the link. It works fine for everyone else, if you are one of the unlucky ones. I've posted a legit free fix to get rid of it below.*

Oh yeah and that 1rep thing, it works. It just looks very retarded and you don't get the satisfaction from actually working out.

You have a lot of tension on your muscles when you do those kinds of exercises. It's a pretty good workout because it flexes your entire body but you obviously shouldn't stay in that position for too long.

yea imo its good for strength training without actually bulking up.. sorta like calisthenic training.

Lol non sense. If you want to get stronger, pick something heavy up and carry it for time and distance like what real men do.

So would pushing against a brick wall or flexing be considered a good workout? What type of gains are to be expected?

This is the exact opposite of the the definition of Calisthenics.

You likely weren't warned it was a Trojan site since you're using that shitty "Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware" you are recommending to us lol.

The 1repgym you linked is more interactive than pushing a wall. It's still best to do actual exercises obviously, or at least supplement that with actual exercises. Don't get me wrong, that "1repgym" looks rediculous, but it works to a certain extent.

Actually, I don't get Trojans. Obviously, I had no idea the link contained any. I just thought I'd be nice and post a free and quick solution if it did get anyone. Jeez

Nope, not at all. Old fashion cardio and hitting the weights

You're the one posting this thread with "W..T..F..." and I simply stated that even though it looks gay as hell that it works to a certain extent.

I can't believe I have to explain something that should be common sense.

Its one of the most retarded things I've ever seen. A way to workout without actually having to workout. Just hold weight like you are going to workout...no wait, that was the workout. No range of motion=no injury...like, really?

Then when they have Tony Robbins interviewing "the creators" and it's completely delusional. A fat guy and a chubby guy...

Fat Guy: "I don't like working out"
Tony Robbins: "Neither does 250million people"
Fat Guy: "Working out is dumb, always has been."
...
Tony Robbins: "You guys are both natural bodybuilders..."
Fat guy: "I'm more of a powerlifter"
Fat guy: "I use to use dumbells for shrugs"
Tony Robbins: "What kind of weight did u you lift?"
Fat guy: "60lbs"
Chubby guy: "that was a big weight!"
Fat guy: "that is a big weight.."
Tim Robbins: *blank stare, smile and nod*
Fat guy: "Then i switched to static hold with range of motion of 0. I shrugged 1000lbs."
Tony Robbins: "OMG"

These guys are trying to use the logic of practical concepts like compound lifts and one rep max then combine it with their bullshit. How can you say it works?

do some research on the history of power rack training and isometrics before you debunk it

here are a couple of old school articles on it

I'm not debunking isometrics, they have always had a place in athletics, especially in martial arts, yoga, etc. But they are only used in conjunction with full range of motion flexibility and dynamic exercise. These guys are not talking about wall sits or planks. Its not about 3 position isometric holds to increase strength and flexibility FOR presses.
Say you normally bench 165lbs. On their program, if you un rack 500lbs...you just benched 500lbs, that's it. Skip the presses...YTMND
