No beyonders competing? That's surprising seeing as how half the people in the workout threads can easily lift double these weights lol

250 lbs per hand sounds crazy for a 30' walk. and suits are ghey.

No its not we do 200 per hand for over 300' in the farmers walk at our local exhibition, But we're just farmers and most of us aren't 200+ lbs.

350 must be tough though! I wouldn't get them off the ground.

No doubt.

Where is a gym with 250lb dumbbells (or something) to even practise that?

I can do 45 a side. I was at Talisman and grabbed on to two 45 plates and just walked around the gym area when it wasn't busy lol I have to say your arms go to failure so fast. :nut:

i just don't see this? i'm not trying to call BS lol, i just for some reason can't wrap my head around it. I want to try and do it now, but i can't think of a way to pick up 200lbs a hand at my gym.. i think our biggest dumbless are 120lbs..

*hint* Farmer's walks aren't done with dumb bells

I'd like to see these <200lbs farmers carrying 400lbs for the length of a football field though

Our exhibition uses a length of rail road rail probably 3 ft, and I think its 1" steel plate I would guess it to be 16" square, and a round handle on top.. depending on how tall you are when you pick it up, its just barely off the ground, and your arms are stretched out, head back and book it...

Kind of like this, but just a different shape

Record in our arena is 366' or so, from memory, And that guy would just be over 200lbs,, and like 6'3.. I haven't lifted them in a few years though..

The other events are usually hay bale toss, and stone lift. Im not claiming I'm anything special at all.. I'm just a dumb farmer.. Just saying 200 per hand isn't as much as you think, but 350 sure as hell is!

@dirtsniffer agreed, suits have no place in a strongman competition, unfortunately I'm not the organizer
@big show we have specialty farmers walk implements at our gym in Calgary that the guys use.

For any beyonders who come by make sure to say hullo, I will be the sweaty guy streaming/coaching. Out of the 20 slated to compete 9 are from my club here in Calgary.

I have dbs going up to 170.

With my adjustable db handle I could put approximately 260lbs on 10lb weight plates on it. If I used 25lb plates on it instead of 10lbs I could easily do over 500 I think? (it's a LONG db handle, almost 2ft long)

1pm to 5pm. Admission likely free since it's just at Eau Claire in an open space. Weigh in at 12pm.

The whole point of steaming something is for those that are not there to witness what is going on, filming the ground does nothing.
