South side Chicago....saw this bullshit yesterday morning and LOL's ensued as this guy totally F'd up his trailer.

He made it under the first bridge which you can see at top left of picture but then he got stuck under the second one. He kept creeping forward to try and get through and the trailer kept tilting to the right....thought that shit was gonna flip over.

3 hours later I come back and they are inspecting the bridge etc for damage. Heres what his truck looked like:

Next up...
This douche cut me off and then later ripped past me on the shoulder doing approx 200+km/h. Called the cops on him but they said I would have to file some paperwork or some bullshit like that if I wanted to pursue a dangerous driving complaint? Disappointing to say the least. So I said screw it. 2 minutes later I pull behind him at a red light. Noticed hes heading the same way I am.

He goes to the gym....and parks his newly purchased Maserati with temp plates in a handicap spot. I call the police again...same guy picks up the phone...says he will send a unit out. LOLs then ensue as this guys "homies" go running into the gym to get him to move the car as hes getting a $300 ticket.

Looks like it's only a sea can rather than trailer so the loss is only a few thousand for the trucker but still a silly move.

really really dumb how the 2nd bridge is lower than the first, makes no sense. I'd say not the truckers fault if both bridges were labelled as the same height.

nice work on the maserati.

Haha oh man, the centre st bridge even has this little sign that shows a truck with a dented trailer. I hope someone knows which sign I'm talking about.
Silly truck drivers.

I agree, I wonder what kind of clearance signs they have around the two bridges.

My Maserati does 185. I lost my license, now I don't drive.

Always get that song stuck in my head whenever I hear "Maserati".

The bridges were likely labelled when they were installed and never again, even after multiple paving jobs over a number of years. they do not come out and change the signs on the bridges to the new heights. This happens more often than you can imagine.

If you look at the picture close it also looks like the front part of the bridge he cleared and the other side on the inside was lower and that is what the box smashed into.

This is what happened. He made it like halfway through and then got caught on something in the middle. Totally messed up situation.

I'll take pics of signage on my way in on Monday.

Chicago is one of the most terrible cities in the states to drive a truck through. Many of those bridges have fuck all for markings. It has a lot bridges and overpasses that are a total joke for heights, yet trucks are required to be driving into those areas daily. When going into those areas you need to check with the latest truckers atlas and plan your route exactly. If you get into a situation where you have to divert your plan at the last minute (unknown road closures, not being able to get into the lane due to traffic, etc) you can quickly get on a road that's going to leave you fucked. I am SO GLAD I am not trucking anymore...especially through Chicago.

Ever watch Wrecked on speed channel? Every other show they were getting a truck out of this situation!

Maybe they go around and remove the signs to keep in business! :nut:
