Which one would you buy between these two cars?

Why would you buy it?

What model would you go with in the Soul. If soul is chosen.

Any other positive input will be welcome.

Thanks

I love my 08 XB. Haven't had any problems and I have 101,000 miles

Lots of aftermarket support, super comfortable and functional, pretty neat creature comforts. I'm very impressed with the value of the vehicle.

Soul is meh IMO

I like the XB too, Its wicked to drive around in. The engine puts out quite a bit of tq too. The one shitty thing about it is its not that economical.

XB2 (08-11) is not as good in gas mileage as the previous models, but thats because they made it heavier and beefed up the engine by ~50hp and ~50tq.

It has more than enough power for beating around the city in. I get about 550kms to the tank which is pretty good. On the highway I get the same or less, but thats because the gearing on a manual xb is fucking weird. Automatic at 130km/h is just under 3000rpm but im around 3500-3700rpm.

The only thing im not used to with the XB is lack of V-TAK, after 4500rpm in 3rd or higher theres no power

I test drove a soul 4u SX, it was very noisy inside I found and rough.

I never test drove an XB but if I was in the market (which I kinda am) I would try to schedule test drives back to back and see from there.

Neither, but to each their own I guess. The rental base Soul I had was terrible at everything: fit and finish, interior controls, mushy handling, no power, laggy transmission, poor interior space... just piss poor all around. The gas mileage was impressive though! I took it back and got a Suburban, needed the space as more coworkers showed up than we had planned.

My girlfriend has a 2011 Soul and she loves it.

I agree it handles a little bit rough, but it's got great gas mileage and I personally think stock vs. stock, the Soul looks much better.

I'd take the Soul 4u- funky looking, drives okay, lots of standard features. Loaded to the gills is 22.5k for everything you could want (except horsepower) :)

Thanks for all the responses.
So today I went and took both for test drives.

The soul was ok to drive but was really sluggish, also the car we test drove was making a really load squeaking sound. Sounded like the breaks.
The price point on the soul is good and cheap. Interest rate is great at 0%.

The sales staff were really bad at it. Also the sales manager was busy trying to upsell us to the 4u model. We were just trying to get into the 2u model and a cheap price but they kept saying that none are available. So I currently am not that pleased with them so far.

Now the scion. Test drove it and it was really fun to drive. Had good pick up and go and was a good well rounded car. Had lots of room in the back of the car and in the front. The sales staff are really good and help work things out.
I phoned them back later that day and have asked for a 24 hour test drive and have got it for the rest of the weekend.

What places would you take it to test out around the city?

Any other suggestions?

I love the look of the soul's, but everything else the Xb sounds better. Especially resale.
I would go for the Xb.
