Hey fellas

so ive got this 06 yamaha R6. As some of you know it is a rebuilt bike that I bought from 03ozwhip (thanks again buddy)

Since it was involved in a minor accident I guess it was dropped or slid on one of the engine covers

Now this is bugging the hell out of me.. just looking at the deep scratches pisses me off lol. And im slowly working on making it as mint as possible

Attached photo is what Im talking about.

Question now is where can I get the replacement cover for this? Roughly how much would it cost? Im sure its costly since it is part of the engine but worth asking. Im sure its something I could take the fairing fairing off and possibly sand down and repaint but Id rather just get a new piece.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!

I'm not a bike guy, but it looks like a clutch cover. :dunno:

those are aftermarket covers, cost slightly more but some have skid plates on them

basically any dealership will be able to order them both aftermarket and oem. If you are looking for a deal check out ebay or some racing forums like wera. There is also bayside performance thats a canadian dealer in vancouver that has pretty close pricing to us dealers.

You have two options, either just replace the stock generator cover with a replacement Yami part, a couple hundred bucks, or cover it up with engine armour. Woodcraft is probably the best looking but you can also go for a Yoshimura cover that might hide everything and they are inexpensive at about $200 for a kit that includes both sides. I beleive they are a dark copper color. The woodcraft come in pretty much any color you want.

if you replace it, don't forget to buy a matching gasket as well and replace that also

Kinda a side note, but the clutch cover is the round one on the other side.

If you don't wanna replace it right away, color it with a black sharpie. You'd be surprised at what a world of difference this makes on the looks (I've had 2 rebuilt bikes before haha).
