I am planning on going skydiving later this month or early next month and I am wondering what company operating near Calgary you guys would recommend?

I would prefer not to drive more than an hour or two to get to whatever location they use would be, and I don't plan on making more than one jump (and I am planning on jumping tandem so that I can go from a higher height on my first and only jump).

I am going to Eden North in Edmonton on the 17th. If I survive I'll let you know how it was :P

Do a search and you'll find a few past threads regarding the good and bad places to go skydiving. Aparently there used to be a place that killed a person a year because pretty much anybody was packing chutes.

I just did my first jump with Edmonton Skydive out of the Westlock airport. Had a great time, super friendly staff. I'm going back to get my solo certification. Price was $420 after taxes and video tape

Thanks for the advice and linking the thread. $420 sounds a bit much but that is including video so it should be a bit less without it. I'll look into them as well. I don't mind driving a couple hours to go jump from a higher altitude or to have better instructors.

It was $300 sans photos and video.

I'm uncertain if they truly go higher though. They jump from 12,500' above sea level, the other websites all say 10000', but I never asked them if that was ground level (which would be the same) or sea level.

I'm 200Lbs and I fell like a rock either way haha.

The instructors were great though.

Did a solo jump with Eden North today. Fantastic experience, only $210 with lunch, photos. :D
