Any beyonders into older Blues music? I've been listening to the mainstream Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn lately but looking for new artist recommendations...

Have you heard much by Lenny Breau?

Apologies for the poor quality of these clips, it's tough to find decent quality recording of him online...

I've always loved John Lee Hooker. I really like the stripped back style. No band, just a guitar and occasionally a foot stomping on a piece of plywood.

Also Look to Bo Diddley, possibly the most ripped off artist of all time. He never got the credit for the songs that other people remade.

If you want to go waaay back in blues legend, look up Robert Johnston. The Eric Clapton album "Me and Mr. Johnston" is an easy intro to that stuff, the the original Robert Johnston stuff is a whole other level.

Buddy Guy is also amazing. Read the Wiki on him, he created a lot of the guitar rock that we know todoy.

Don't know if by "new artist" you mean "new" artists, or just some maybe "new to you" artists. As mentioned, Black Keys are about the only "new" band that's doing bluesy stuff I like.

As far as older stuff, here's some obvious stuff you've probably heard before, but might as well put it out there in case you haven't.
