Sorry its another fencing thread. this time its chain link.

The parking garage in my condo has a area where I can build a cage for my storage unit.

Has anyone done this in the past and know hte rough cost?

I need 15 linear feet of fencing at a height of 7 feet. And a gate that is 4 feet and 7 feet tall.

Ive been getting quotes at around the $1400-$1900.

Are these quotes accurate?

Sounds crazy, I am guessing that most of this is labour costs.

I got 106 feet of 4ft fence, with 3 gates for about 2G.
That price sucks. I used Lynx, black coated fence and posts, etc.

Call Totem and check but they used to carry chain link. You could get a quote on the cost of the materials for what you need. Then you'd know the rate of the labour.

Seems a little pricey. I used to do chain link installs. They aren't that labour intensive. Yes, smaller areas are trickier but compared to a wood fence... a lot less time spent in labour.

Sorry don't know the costs.

Yeah i did exactly that. I got the cost of the material to be around 600 dollars. I just dont know what the installers pay because im sure they get a better rate on materials.

Let's say they get a 15% discount. That's around $500 for materials.

I can't see the labour being much more than another $500 but I could be wrong, haven't seen the project. Maybe they're thinking of busting up concrete or something to install this rather than using lag bolts to fasten this down?!?

Hopefully this is getting you closer to a final price and you can ask them why they're charging $1500-$2000 when materials are only $600ish.
