Congrats on the purchase...the car looks great! I've put 6300 km's on mine since October and have enjoyed every minute of it.

You probably already know this but if not already done so, enlarging the size of the 3M on the rear doors and fenders is highly recommend. These cars are notorious for rock chips there due to the shape/size of our sideskirts

Any plans for mods?

Looks like I've been bitten by the mod bug already. Installed my new exhaust on today and took it to the track. I still strongly believe I will keep this car for a long time

I love Octane Blue and that's a rare color for an MR. What year? Judging by the side skirts 2008 or 2009.

What exhaust are you running? Sounded like an areoplane at the track today

Fujitsubo legalis R. I like quiet exhausts :) it's an 08

You need a tune. A simple OTS tune like Cobb Stg. 2 91 Octane will awaken the beast in the 4B11. Even though I love the 5.0L I miss the explosive midrange power of a STg. 2 EVO.

Once my downpipe and test pipe an intake come in. I'm going to get airboy to do a rom raider tune on it

By the way heavyd. What worked better for you for gas. Shell 91 or husky 94? Seemed like all my cars except my sti liked shell better

I ran exclusively Husky 94 and never had any issues as I liked the safety factor of using 94 Octane with an OTS 91 Octane tune.

I give him unitl this time next year before he moves on to his next car.... by his own words he's already bored with it as he's started to mod it already.

Sorath

i blame it on bimmer parts costing too much to mod. i've had the itch to mod for a long time already haha.

How much HP did you put down? I'm only a lowly Ralliart, so there is no way I was going to be putting up 280+ hp :(

Sorath
08-20-2011, 04:16 PM
on Sunny's tune i did around 265whp and 295wtq

his dyno does read significantly less though, he mentioned that stock sti's do around 215whp on his dyno

Which is kind of deceptive as the tips are massive indicating that it may be loud. I installed a Fujitsubo legals R on my MR2 and it was pretty quiet as well.

Sorath

its alot louder now haha, almost as loud as my skyline. at idle its like stock

now that i think about it. its probably not me i didnt get off work till 7

can i recommend some trans coolers. apparently it's only survive about 4-5 minutes on the track before it'll shut down on you.

It's on my list to do over winter. Been doing some research. Don't know why price difference is so huge. But ams is only 520 and some are like 1800. Tons of people saying the ams is awesome. Will probably go with that

npham

Probably want to get some SSP Gold if you want to track it at all. There is the cooler, but also there is a extra capacity pan for it too. Lots of options.

Very nice (RS in gold) what tire? Are you going to have to roll your fenders? I got RZ 19x10 +25 running 265's and with that setup the rear can rub depending on the tire as not all 265 tires have the same width as tires like Star Specs run wide and rub while others like NT05 are narrow and clear.

fuck yea, i was like i wonder if kasem got those, or if cecilia bought them lol

Sorath
08-31-2011, 12:23 PM
they are wrapped in re-11's dom. at that tire size you pretty much have only 2 choices, re-11's are AD08's they are actually RZ in bronze

no need for fender rolling needed atm but not sure after if i chose to lower it.

the tpms' are really annoying though.

Maybe it's the flash in the pick but I don't remember mine being that bright. Bronze the perfect wheel color for Octane Blue and RS/RZ IMO are the best looking wheels for the EVO X. RE-11's are a nice, sticky tire. That should be a nice combination on the track.
